In 1959 Joanne and Ed moved from New Jersey to Texas and decided to open a sandwich shop with the style of food they were used to, they named it after themselves Jo-Eds Bomber. From 1060 to 1972 Jo-Eds was located at Park Row and Cooper St. near the college. Needing a change of scenery they moved to Hwy 303 as we know it as Pioneer Pkwy. The food was such a big hit that when they decided it was time to sell the business the new owner couldn't think of changing anything on the menu, and so the eastern style sub remained in Texas. 53 years later the recipe stays the same, with a few additions that is. If you grew up eating at Jo-Eds you know how good the eastern style subs are, and if you haven well you need to stop in and taste tradition.
