Del Mar Neuro Center, in conjunction with The Brain Treatment Center, provides a new therapy alternative that focuses on each individual's unique brainwave profile and delivers targeted, repetitive applications of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). Magnetic Resonance Therapy (MRT) Treatment is an innovative treatment that combines brain stimulation and brain scan technologies to directly target neural deficits in order to reach a neurotypical state. NBRL is currently sponsoring a clinical trial at Del Mar Neuro Center that looks at the effectiveness of MRT Treatment on military personnel suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). MRT was developed from the technology of Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS / TMS). rTMS/TMS for use in any case that does not fit FDA guidelines is considered off-label. Only one device is cleared by the FDA for use as a second-line antidepressant after medication failure, and Brain Treatment Center does not use this device. Use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation rTMS / TMS in any situation besides specific depression cases with a specific rTMS / TMS device is considered off-label use. Use of even an FDA cleared device for any case but specific depression cases is still considered investigational and off-label. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS / TMS) treatment at the Brain Treatment Center is used off-label through the prescription of a primary care physician or psychiatrist, which can be obtained through our staff psychiatrist.
