In 2013, James Chen was struck by the fact there were few Flushing restaurants that offered online ordering services. Determined to fill this void, Chen started FlushingFood.com, a website that allows customers to order from Flushing’s plethora of restaurants from the comfort of their own couch.

Sarku Japan is the largest and most successful Japanese Quick Service (QSR) operator in the United States, with a rapidly growing network of over 200 restaurants in 37 states. Now, we are bringing our Japanese cuisine from mall food courts to the streets, launching a new store-front concept under the brand name Sarku Japan – Teriyaki and Sushi Express, which successfully debuted in Woburn, Massachusetts in 2008. This national expansion initiative calls for significant growth in select markets over the next few years by providing franchising opportunities. Sarku Japan’s future growth is supported by new corporate headquarters in Markham, Ontario, Canada, which feature a fully integrated back-office support center to meet the needs of the field operations team.
