The Center was designed and built to enhance the quality of life of Oaks North residents by actively promoting participation in all aspects of community, including social, recreational, health and educational needs with emphasis on enriching the lives of those age 55 and better. Inherent in this pursuit we provide opportunities that facilitate positive, life-changing experiences through art, athletics, personal development and community service. It is our goal to be a focal point for services, information and activities that increase inclusion in the community (e.g. Neighborhood Watch). We provide meeting rooms and activity space for organized groups and member private parties. In doing all this, we enhance the value of each property in Oaks North.
The North San Diego Business Chamber is the steward for business in our communities, supporting businesses of every size through proven programming, a unified voice in front of government, and dedicated committees.

The Safe Homes Coalition encourages awareness and information regarding prescription medication misuse and abuse which affects the safety of our community, homes, and families. Our founding members including Millennium Laboratories, Mental Health Systems, Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS®, Oakwood Escrow and Hope 2gether, have partnered to develop a prescription medication education and awareness program directed towards the more than 24,000 licensed real estate professionals in San Diego County, and more broadly to the community at large. Our goal is to ensure that prescription medications are utilized, stored, and disposed of safely. The Safe Homes Coalition is launching the program on March 11, 2014, to coincide with the California State Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Month. Prescription drug abuse is the Nation’s fastest-growing drug problem. One area where families can reduce inappropriate access to prescription medications is to securely store them at all times, especially when they are selling their homes. Just as homeowners would lock up their valuables, such as jewelry and private information, families should also securely store their prescription medications to reduce the risk of theft. The most frequently misused and abused prescription drugs tend to be controlled substances, such as anti-anxiety medications and psychiatric drugs, attention deficit disorder medications, and pain medication. Many of these controlled substances are used for non-medication purposes and have developed a street value, thus contributing to the diversion of medications from legitimate use. The Safe Homes Coalition has prepared a public service announcement regarding this important issue, offering education and information on this page, and created 10,000 bags for real estate professionals to provide to families with homes for sale, so they can secure prescription medications during open houses and while their homes are accessible under lock-box. Families are encouraged to take action today to safe guard medications by preventing theft and misuse by securing medications to ensure their house is always a safe home.
