Delaware Technical Community College is the only community college in the state of Delaware. The four component campuses that make up the college are the Jack F. Owens Campus in Georgetown, Delaware; the Stanton Campus in Stanton, Delaware; the Charles L. Terry Campus in Dover; and the Orlando J. George, Jr. Campus in Wilmington, Delaware. Delaware Tech was created by the Delaware General Assembly in 1966 by House Bill 529.Delaware Tech is an open admission institution that is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The college offers more than 100 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs in the fields of Agriculture, Business, Computer Technology, Culinary Arts, Education, Energy and Engineering, Health and Science, Public Service, Transportation, and Visual Communications. Of these programs, 48 are accredited degree programs with articulation agreements with 61 other institutions of higher learning. In the 2013-2014 school year, there were 23,568 students enrolled at Delaware Tech.After nearly 45 years associated with the school including nearly 19 years as president, Dr. George stepped down as Delaware Tech President on June 30, 2014. On August 4, 2014, Delaware Tech named Mark T. Brainard as the college's fifth president.
The College of Business offers four undergraduate major fields of study; Accounting, Aviation, Management, and Hospitality & Tourism Management; and six undergraduate concentrations; Business Economics, Finance & Banking, General Management, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. The Bank of America Building is the home of all disciplines in the College of Business. Through its curricula and co-curricula programs and activities, the College of Business seeks to achieve the following major objectives: to provide a learning environment conducive to developing the knowledge bases, competencies, and other skills required for leadership positions in management of business, government and other work organizations; to provide an integrative, experience and problem-based program of study; to provide students with a multidisciplinary foundation to understand the complexities of organizational management in the context of external factors such as the economy, technology, competition and globalization; to prepare students with the competencies necessary to pursue graduate studies in management-related disciplines and other fields of study; and to provide advanced studies in management, through quality graduate programs.
Delaware’s first Early College High School offers the following: • An accelerated high school education program that allows students to graduate from college in only 2-3 years. • A huge cost benefit; attendance is free. • A personalized learning environment; only 125 students will be accepted into the 9th grade program.* • A specialization in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). • Access to Delaware State University’s accomplished faculty and resources. • A challenging, yet supportive program. • A personalized, four-year learning plan.
Delaware State University has an active aquaculture research program, and a Technical Assistance and Outreach Program through DSU cooperative extension. Currently we do not offer academic degree programs specifically in aquaculture. Administratively we are a part of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources within the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences.
The Small Farms Program was designed to provide small and limited resource farmers with new opportunities. We offer outreach services, technical assistance, and provide research based information. The Delaware State University College Woods is a 76 acre forest nestled on the edge of campus. The 1/3 mile long Woodland Trail passes through forest, wetland, and stream habitats. The Campus Woods offers access to a large natural area amidst the urban environment of Dover, Delaware. The proximity to campus facilitates its use as an outdoor classroom and research area for undergraduate and graduate programs, the Master Gardener program, and local educators. Maps of the Woodland Trail include a self-guided tour are available at the Delaware State University Claude E. Phillips Herbarium. We are a hard working, fun loving bunch. We want the best experience for our student-athletes and prepare them for life beyond athletics while competing in the sport we love.
The Department of Mass Communications produces graduates who specialize in convergence journalism; public relations and advertising; or television-radio-film production. The curriculum combines three essential elements of learning: A theoretical approach to enable students to understand concepts of mass communications. A performance-based approach to develop skills and techniques to enable students to be proficient with communication technologies. An internship program to place students in off-campus learning environments working with professionals.
Located near the center of the campus, the William C. Jason Library serves as the hub of the University's academic program. The library has an open stacks system and provides information services to faculty, staff, students, and the community-at-large. Library-related instruction, information, and guidance are available to all patrons and groups who visit the facility.
Founded in the 21st century, Our organizations goal is not to make Haiti the next bandwagon to jump on. Our country is intermixed with very sophisticated beautiful aspects and some very low conditions in living in some areas. You never hear about the beauty or the advancements in our country, society, and culture. This page is dedicated to enriching and educating the Delaware State University student body and community. We are a one country in the many exotic and amazing countries in the Caribbean. A little representation isn't bad.
