In 1973, the Benaroya’s founded Seattle Design Center as a creative epicenter to serve the needs of interior designers and architects. SDC now has 40,000 square feet of art gallery space, and welcomes art clientele, artists, and designers in the Greater Seattle area. The 12 Galleries at Seattle Design Center present an elegant haven for the Northwest art community to celebrate and experience diverse fine art. SDC provides a welcoming, accessible setting filled with brilliant, artistic creations.

Like many young fine art students, picture framing was my day job. I enjoyed it enough to go from a part time employee at a big box store to manager and eventually moved over to manage a few independent shops around SoCal. After school, I tried many other jobs from publishing to trim carpentry, always making time for art. My wife and I eventually founded Mainframe after trying to find the one occupation that combines careful craftsmanship, a love for proportion, color harmony, fractions, great service and good design. Custom picture framing is the combination of all these things. Our business has grown from a single car garage to a custom frame shop and art gallery in the vibrant neighborhood of Georgetown. We’re celebrating two years of serving the local arts community in Seattle, and love collaborating with amazing people, artists, and designers from Seattle to LA. Topophilia is a drawing studio located at Equinox Studios in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, WA. Equinox Studios - The Creative Industrial Complex has breathed new life to a 30,000 square foot industrial building circa 1941, in the southwest corner of the historic Georgetown neighborhood. Established in 2006, Equinox is the largest arts venue in Georgetown. With studios ranging from 120-3000 square feet, Equinox is now the creative space for over 40 artists and artisans from all disciplines... metalworking, woodworking, ceramics, painting, photography, design, video, sculpture, and much more. Equinox is open to the public every second Saturday during the Georgetown Art Walk and holds an annual open house each December. It is also the home base for the new Georgetown Art Ride, a shuttle bus that will take you to several shuttle stops throughout the neighborhood to enhance your art walk experience.
