Promise Hospital of San Diego is a 57-bed long term acute care (LTAC) hospital. We provide a comprehensive range of medical services for acute care patients who require a longer time to recover from life’s most serious illnesses and injuries. Our specialized care integrates all services into an interdisciplinary recovery approach not seen in other health care settings. We offer a full range of medical services including examinations, preventive health care and vaccinations, dentistry, surgery, radiography, and flea control.
The Center for Community Counseling & Engagement (CCCE) is a non-profit community center providing low-cost counseling services to individuals, couples, and families within San Diego. CCCE is a training facility operated by San Diego State University which provides hands-on education for graduate students in the Masters degree programs in the Department of Counseling and School Psychology. Counseling services are provided by pre-licensed trainees in the fields of Marriage and Family Therapy and Community-based Counseling. Trainees are supervised by licensed therapists, psychologists and/or supervisors accredited by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) as well as members of SDSU's Counseling and School Psychology faculty. As a training facility, CCCE is not able to provide emergency services or crisis intervention. Staff members are not able to provide medication, 24-hour phone access, or emergency appointments. However, referral services and collaboration with other community resources are provided. When CCCE staff are not available, clients and prospective clients may leave messages on the the voicemail service. Calls are returned promptly within 24 hours except on weekends. CCCE strongly supports the view that individuals, the families, and society-at-large are all important in the development and resolution of people’s problems. Our treatment approaches address all three areas.
