Community Life: Orlando
Distance: 1.4 mi Competitive Analysis
Lake Buena Vista Area
Orlando, FL 32821

We are Community Life: Orlando, and we are a group of Christian believers committed to serving those around us by providing a place of fellowship, refuge, support, and as our name suggests: community. We strive to be upfront about who we are, and why we do what we do. However, all people are welcome, here; Christian and non-Christian, alike! No matter who you are, we love you, we will not judge you, and you will not be preached at; although we would love to share our faith with you, if you are interested. Our ministry began as a way to reach out to the Disney College Program students (Disney CPs) in our area, and give them a friendly, Christ-centered home-away-from-home. Since then, we have had people from every inhabited continent on the globe come through our doors. We have met so many amazing people, and we hope that that continues for a long time to come! Some of our weekly events include Guys/Girls Night, Outings, Community Dinner Night, and Game Night. Most of these are about as self-explanatory as they sound. - (Monday) On Guys/Girls night, the guys meet at one apartment, the girls meet at another and we talk about life over a meal and a board game. - (Tuesday) Tuesdays are reserved for various outings. Some nights we'll go out into the community and do things, and on other nights we'll go visit other churches in the area. - (Thursday, pending Wednesday because it might work out better for people, but until that's official, still Thursday) At Community Dinner Night we usually have one person prepare a home-cooked meal for anyone who decides to come that night. The meal is free of charge and is provided based on donations given toward the community (we will, however, never ask you to donate). Any donations we receive go toward the benefit and betterment of others in our community. Other than that, we get together often, go to events, celebrate holidays, and generally just have a good time with one another! ----------------------------------------------- For those theologically-minded Christians (or anyone) interested in what we believe, we have dedicated this section to that. We are also always available, and more than willing to discuss these things with you, in person! About the Bible: We believe that the Bible is the revelation of the Creator to his creation. In the Bible, God tells us who He is, who we are, what His plan is for His creation and how we are to relate to Him. The Bible is given by God, making it free from error and trustworthy to teach us truth. It is the ultimate source of authority in the life of all believers. (2 Peter 1:20-21; John 5:39-40; John 1:1; 2 Timothy 3:15-17) About God: God has always existed. He is our Creator and the maker of all things that exist. He exists as one God in Three persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. God is infinite, un-created, all-knowing, all-present, all-powerful, loving, just and holy. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:6; Ephesians 1:3; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Revelation 22:13; Isaiah 44:6; Isaiah 40:28; Jeremiah 10:10; Revelation 1:8) About Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He became human without ceasing to be God in order to come into His creation and save us from our sin, fulfilling all prophecies made about Him in the Old Testament. After living a sinless life He was crucified and died. He was buried and three days later He came back to Life, proving that He is Lord, even over death. (John 8:58-59; John 10:30; Mark 14:61-62; Daniel 7:13-14 Luke 24:27; Colossians 1:15-20; John 14:6; John 8:12; John 11:25-27) About The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the Great Councilor promised to us by Jesus in the New Testament but has always existed. He is not just the voice of God but a living being and is himself God which lives inside every Christian, helping guide us to make right decisions and brings with him power and gifts to help us live the life God through scripture has called us to live. (John 14:17,26; 15:26-27; 16:7-14; 1 Corinthians 2:10-12; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Luke 3:16; Luke 4:18; Romans 5:5; Romans 8:1) About People: Humanity was created by God. We were created without sin. However, humanity sinned and has been sinful ever since. This sin separates us from God's presence and special blessing. This sin nature also leaves us spiritually dead, even before we are born and in need of life, but incapable of getting this life for ourselves. No one is capable of being good enough to save themselves. We need a Savior. (Genesis 3; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Ephesians 2:3; Romans 1:32) About Salvation: Since we are separated from God by our sin, and God is Just, a penalty must be paid. This penalty is eternal separation from God. However, Jesus Christ came to Earth, God becoming man, in order to pay the penalty for us. Because Christ is God, the price He paid was paid infinitely. Each person is saved as they place their faith in Jesus Christ as their only hope for salvation; that is, by grace, through faith, not of works. (John 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15:17; Daniel 12:2; Romans 3:23-26; Romans 5:12-21; Ephesians 2:1-9) About the Christian Life: We exist to glorify God through our obedience to the standard of living given to us in the Bible. We are called to continue growing in our faith so that we will look more and more like Jesus Christ in all our thoughts, words and actions. Obedience allows us to accomplish our created purpose of glorifying God. (Colossians 3:16; Galatians 6:1-5; Romans 12:1-2) About the Church: The Church is made up of every believer that has ever lived or now lives, regardless of ethnic identity or geographic location. The members of Community Life: Orlando are a local gathering of many members of this Church for the purpose of encouraging one another, teaching one another, holding one another accountable to the biblical standards of living and worshiping God not only through our lifestyles but also in gathered worship. We believe that by living this way we become the image of God to the community around us. (Acts 2:36-47; John 17:21-23; Matthew 22:37-39; Hebrews 13:2; Luke 6:32) About Eternity: We believe that one day, still in the future, Jesus Christ will return for His Church. When He does, there will be a resurrection of the dead. His church will be taken up from the Earth to meet Him in the air as He returns. There will be a judgment of every person that has ever lived. Those that belong to Jesus Christ will be taken into His presence for eternity, where we will forever accomplish our created purpose. Those that are not His will be in a place of separation from Him, for eternity to come. (Hebrews 9:27; Daniel 12:2; Matthew 25:31-46; John 3:16; John 3:36; 2 Corinthians 5:1-10; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:15; 2 Peter 3:1-13; 1 Thessalonians 4:17)
