Home of the weird, freaky, interesting and curious, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop is a museum and gift store. We have collected quite the eclectic mix of treasures since we opened in 1899. We have interesting items for sale such as jewelry made with real insects, butterflies in frames, and wallets made of recycled materials. Our gift selection includes Seattle's own Glass Eye Studio's hand-blown ornaments and paperweights, as well as Northwest Native American hand-carved totem poles and masks. We also have fair trade gifts from Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. Our collection of oddities and curiosities ranges from genuine mummies and shrunken heads (tsantsa), to freak farm animals such as two-headed cows and four-legged hens.

The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience is a history museum located in Seattle, Washington's Chinatown-International District. A Smithsonian Institution affiliate, the Wing is dedicated to engaging the public to explore issues related to the culture, art and history of Asian Pacific Americans. It is the only pan-Asian Pacific American community-based museum in America, highlighting the issues and life-experiences of one of the fastest-growing racial groups in the United States. In February 2013 it gained recognition as one of two dozen "affiliated areas" of the U.S. National Park Service.CollectionsThe Wing's collections have over 18,000 items, including artifacts, photographs, documents, books, and oral histories. Parts of the museum's collections are viewable through its online database. There is an oral history lab inside the museum for staff and public use.ExhibitsThe Wing houses temporary and permanent exhibitions related to Asian American history, art, and cultures. The museum represents over 26 ethnic groups. The museum uses a community-based exhibition model to create exhibits. As part of the community-based process, the museum conducts outreach into communities to find individuals and organizations to partner with. The Wing then forms a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to determine the exhibit's direction. Staff at the museum conduct research, gathers materials, and records relevant oral histories under the guidance of the CAC. The CAC also determines the exhibit's overall design and content. The process may take place over a period of a year to 18 months.
The Henry M. Jackson Federal Building (JFB) is a 37-story United States Federal Government skyscraper in downtown Seattle, Washington. Located on the block bounded by Marion and Madison Streets and First and Second Avenues, the building was completed in 1974 and won the Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects in 1976. It received its current name after the death of U.S. Senator Henry M. Jackson in 1983. Architects for the project were Bassetti/Norton/Metler/Rekevics and John Graham & Associates.Among the structures torn down to build the federal building were the Richardsonian Romanesque Burke Building (built 1889–91), the Hotel Stevens, and the Tivoli Theater, a burlesque house. It is located across from the Old Federal Building. The building serves as a courthouse for the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. Other occupants of the building include the U.S. Treasury Department, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Thirteenth U.S. Coast Guard District.
The National Building is a historic warehouse building in downtown Seattle, Washington, located on the east side of Western Avenue between Spring and Madison Streets in what was historically Seattle's commission district. It is now home to the Seattle Weekly. It is a six story plus basement brick building that covers the entire half-block. The dark red brick facade is simply decorated with piers capped with small Ionic capitals and a small cornice, which is a reproduction of the original cornice. Kingsley & Anderson of Seattle were the architects. The National Building was constructed from late 1904 to mid 1905 by the Northern Pacific Railway as part of the road's multi-million dollar plan to improve their many Seattle properties and capitalize on the city's booming commission trade. One of the building's first tenants was the National Grocery Company which at first only occupied two of the building's eight stores and would later occupy the entire building, becoming its namesake. It would occupy the building until 1930. The building was later home to many small manufacturing and distributing firms and has been an office building since the late 1960s.The National Building individually was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 29, 1982 and became a city of Seattle landmark collectively with the Globe Building, Beebe Building and Hotel Cecil one year later as "First Avenue Groups/Waterfront Center".
