Jewel is a LIVE MUSIC VENUE, featuring one of the area's best sound & light systems. Recently, Jewel underwent a CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP, and has made several key changes, with many more to come. Check our Event Page and you will see a wide variety of musical genres including Rock, Reggae, R&B, Soul, Folk, Blues, Americana, Roots, Pop, and even Comedy! Oh, and yes... of course, we will still have heavy rock and metal acts as well. Jewel will pride itself in welcoming all genres of music and all people from the community and surrounding areas. Jewel offers a full bar and will soon be offering a casual menu of light fare from our own kitchen. Jewel's number one priority is the safety and enjoyment of all our guests, while adhering to state & local laws and liquor commission regulations. As such, the majority of Jewel's events are 21+... however there are certain events that are 18+ which are clearly identified on the Event Page, and on the Ticket Purchase page at Ticketfly: http://www.ticketfly.com/venue/15439-jewel/ ALL GUESTS REGARDLESS OF AGE AND/OR EVENT RESTRICTIONS MUST PROVIDE A VALID, GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID PRIOR TO ENTRY. A pub session (seisiún in Irish Gaelic) refers to playing music and/or singing in the relaxed social setting of a local pub, in which the music-making is intermingled with the consumption of ale, stout, and beer and conversation. Performers sing and play traditional songs and tunes from the Irish, English and Scottish traditions, using instruments such as the fiddle, accordion, concertina, flute, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, tenor banjo, guitar, and bodhrán. -Wikipedia Here at the Shaskeen, we are keeping the tradition alive and as true to the Irish Pub as we can. Jesus is the Way is a non-profit organization that has a heart and a calling to serve the country of Haiti. We have a school in the village of Lacoline, D'Aquin, Haiti. The reconstruction of this school building is currently one-third complete. Beyond the school, our mission is dedicated to serving the people of Haiti in deeper ways. The project will ultimately culminate into a self-sustained, self-funded small community including a school, church, mission house, and community store, powered by wind and solar power. The school has been in operation for around three years and is presently funded entirely by US donors, but will eventually be self-sufficient through profits from the community store as well as services performed by the parents and students of the school.
