Our tours are a forum where the Puget Sound community and tourists alike can discuss and learn about the history and ecosystems of the Sound. Alki Kayak Tours offers meaningful commentary with a goal of having every paddler leave with a greater understanding and appreciation for our unique corner of the world. Downtown Seattle Sea Kayak Tour: This 2-3 hour tour will begin at Bell Harbor Marina in the downtown Seattle waterfront. Paddling out the harbor entrance and onto the closest wild area to the City of Seattle, Elliott Bay. Depending on marine traffic and the presence of Cruise Ships, we will head out 200-300 yards prior to turning north to tour the waterfront. Paddling along the working waterfront and on to Myrtle Edwards Park before exploring the area around the grain terminals and the salmon pens. The route will terminate approximately near Smith Cove and be determined by stamina of the group, weather conditions and timing. All tours will remain out of the route of any shipping channels and guides will follow the “rules of the road” with proper navigation and communication where warranted. Morning 3 hour tours will head towards Discovery Park based upon the strength of the group.
