CU Campus Recreation is made up of Intramurals, Club Sports, Fitness Programs, Outdoor Recreation, Campus Beach and Recreation Area, and Underground Recreation. We offer a variety of services and programs to Clemson University students as well as faculty and staff and the Clemson community.

Aquaponics is the use of an aquacultue unit in addition to hydroponics to create produce with as little input as possible. Currently, this Aquaponic system is all natural and chemical free. Aquaculture is the raising of aquatic animals. Talapia is the only species currently being used in Clemson aquaponics. Hydroponics is the cultivating of plants in a water based environment. Clemson floats the seeds of many different edible plant species, that end up becoming our final produce. The end goal for this group of students is to create a student-led organization. The hopes are to one day be able to run a business model allowing students to control all aspects, from paying other students, to selling the produce.

The Clemson Student Veterans Association has created a scholarship to benefit student veterans at Clemson University. The association has established the annual Tigers for the Troops golf tournament to benefit this scholarship. This second annual event will be held on the 20th of November 2015 at Boscobel Golf and Country Club in Pendleton, SC. We believe that the best way to support veterans is to help them acquire the tools necessary for them to succeed. We believe a scholarship will have a long and meaningful impact on the lives of veterans’, and will enable them to acquire the skills necessary to be competitive in the civilian job market. Our philosophy is simple: serve those who have served. We will accomplish this through the Clemson Student Veteran's Scholarship. If you are interested in participating in the 2nd Annual Tigers for the Troops Golf Tournament, whether as a player, by donating goods or services, or advertising, your partnership is welcome. Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority that promotes scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship among its members. The sorority was founded in 1978 at the Ohio State University by five women who wanted an alternative to the social Greek sorority system. Since that time, Sigma Alpha has become a national organization consisting of more than 80 chapters, comprised of undergraduate and alumnae members. Today, more than 6,000 members have been initiated into Sigma Alpha Sorority. We're growing steadily as others in agriculture learn about us.

As a student at Clemson A&M, Ben Robertson was the founder of several of Clemson's student organizations that still exist today, such as the Jungaleers and the Glee Club. He is thought of as Walter Riggs' right-hand man. After graduation in 1923, Ben studied journalism at the University of Missouri, and went on to become one of the most important journalists to report on the English front during World War II; he was friends with Winston Churchill, Lord and Lady Astor, and many other influential journalists of the time. He was a proponent of peace, and loved the American South.
The Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce serves as the unified voice of business for the Central, Clemson, Pendleton and Six Mile communities while serving as the designated Tourism Agency for the Clemson area. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
On December 7, 1974, the Sertoma Clubs of South Carolina, in Joint Session at a meeting in Clemson, South Carolina, unanimously voted to adopt Camp Sertoma as their state-wide sponsorship. They committed to raise $100,000.00 toward the construction of a sub camp to be located at the Clemson University Outdoor laboratory. The facilities would be owned, maintained and operated by Clemson University and its Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. The Sertoma Clubs of South Carolina were to have access to the facilities on a scheduled basis. The fund-raising effort, in conjunction with our nation's 200th birthday, was appropriately named "Project 76". On July 22, 1975 under the leadership of then State-Director Gene Brantley, Camp Sertoma of South Carolina was incorporated for the purpose of "Promoting Camp Sertoma, collecting charitable contributions for its use and benefit, disbursing said contributions as may be provided from time to time by the Board of Directors and establishing policy for use of the camp by the people of South Carolina." Today the Camp provides opportunities for fun, skills development, and education for 240 children each summer. Boys and girls, ages 7 to 13, are divided into 5 cabins (8 campers and 2 counselors per cabin). There are 6 one week sessions. Some sessions are for disadvantaged children while others are for the hearing or speech impaired. These children are placed in an entirely new and exciting setting where they can enjoy the company of others in group activities or play and work alone or in small groups. Campers learn independence and responsibility while having fun. They are encouraged to do things for themselves. With the proper amount of skilled supervision they might learn to build a campfire, cook a simple meal, or build a raft. In addition to personal and housekeeping chores, the campers engage in such activities as nature hikes, archery, sailing, campfires, cookouts, fishing, boat rides, instructional swims, overnight camping trips, recreational games and skits, sports, singing, arts and crafts, and numerous other activities. If the minds and bodies of our youth are to grow, they must have nourishment. We feel that Camp Sertoma can help in filling a portion of this need. The challenging experiences on an athletic field, in the woods or on the water stimulate the development of a child's inner strengths. They develop leadership, perseverance and the ability to understand, to love and to live with their fellow man. We want each child to leave with memories of this camp as one of the greatest experiences of their lives. This is the purpose of CAMP SERTOMA!
