The School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences shall be a premiere learner-centered community that develops and preserves intellectual capital in the food, agricultural, family and environmental sciences through interdisciplinary learning, discovery, engagement and operational excellence.

Detachment 605 is an AFROTC program based out of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. We support cadets from 10 nearby universities: Wake Forest University, Salem College, Winston Salem State University, Greensboro College, Guilford College, Guilford Technical Community College, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Elon University, and High Point University. The Cadet Corps includes nearly one hundred cadets from these 11 institutes of higher education.

Bennett College is a private four-year historically black liberal arts college for women located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded in 1873 as a normal school to educate freedmen and train both men and women as teachers. Originally coed, in 1926 it became a four-year women's college. It is one of two historically black colleges that enroll women only. Today it serves roughly 780 undergraduate students.In 1956 Willa Beatrice Player was installed as the first African-American woman president of an accredited, four-year liberal arts college. She encouraged her students as activists in issues of the day. Beginning in 1960, Bennett students took part in the ultimately successful campaign in Greensboro to integrate "white" lunch counters at local variety stores. Since the late 1960s, they continued with other efforts. The college expanded its academic offerings and classes related to women's leadership. In the 21st century, the curriculum and students reflect global interests and the African diaspora.

All undergraduate engineering programs in our college are ABET accredited; and the work of our faculty is internationally recognized. Since its inception, A&T has maintained a tradition of excellence in education. Under the leadership of Dr. Harold L. Martin Sr., the university’s current Chancellor, A&T continues to thrive as it sustains its rich legacy. N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, institution located in Greensboro, N.C., on 200 beautiful acres. It is classified by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching as a doctoral-granting research university (high research activity). There is also a 600-acre university farm. Its enrollment is more than 10,000 students and its workforce includes over 2000 employees. The university offers over 100 undergraduate degree programs, more than 50 master’s degree programs, and Ph.D. programs in mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering; energy and environmental systems; and leadership studies. True to its heritage, North Carolina A&T is home to the largest agricultural school among HBCUs and the second largest producer of minority agricultural graduates. The institution was recently awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation's Engineering Research Center (ERC) grant for biomedical engineering and nano-bio applications research.

The School of Business and Economics offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Business Teacher Education, Business Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Management, MIS, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Supply Chain Management together with a Master of Science in Management (MSM) program and a Master of Arts in Teaching Business Education (MAT-BE) program.

Tau Sigma was incorporated as a non-profit in 1999 with Auburn University being the home of the first chapter. At that time, Auburn University was becoming increasingly aware of the significant number of transfers on campus as well as the university’s inability to adequately serve them. Tau Sigma was born out of Auburn University’s desire to improve its service to and recruiting and retention of transfer students. Today, over 80 other universities have established or are currently establishing Tau Sigma chapters in their efforts to improve the services that they provide to their transfer student population. Although Tau Sigma is a relatively young organization, many members in all parts of the country have become active at their universities, participating in such activities as on-campus recruiting events for prospective transfer students, transfer student orientation, community service projects, assisting the admissions office with the recruitment of prospective transfers at junior colleges, and participating in intramural sports and socials that allow them opportunities to fellowship with one another and make new friends.

About FLL: In 1998, FIRST ® teamed up with the LEGO Group to form the FIRST ® LEGO ® League (FLL). Doing so, they created a program for children ages 9-14 with the goal of, “transforming our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders.” Every September, FLL® releases a Challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has two parts: the Robot Game and the Project. Teams of up to ten children, with one adult coach, participate in the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game) and developing a solution to a problem they have identified (Project). Teams may then choose to attend an official tournament, hosted by an Operational Partner, or organize/attend an unofficial local event to celebrate their accomplishments. About N.C. About FTC: FTC is designed for those who want to compete head to head, using a sports model. Teams of up to 10 students are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. The robot kit is reusable from year-to-year and is programmed using a variety of languages. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as for well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments. About N.C. Better Speaking is the Central Focus of Toastmasters. Mprovmasters has not changed the goal, but added technique! We have the tools to help you become a more vibrant and confident speaker through improvisation. Improvisation is about being “in the moment.” Many of us practice repeatedly to achieve that perfect presentation only to be criticized for sounding overly rehearsed. Or sometimes we get to our presentation and nothing is set the way we expect. Being in the moment means the ability to focus on what is going on right now and handle it in it real time, the way life is. When we can remove all of our distractions, we can adapt to our situation and connect with our audience; we become outstanding communicators.
