Gregory Gymnasium is the 4,000-seat current home of the University of Texas Longhorn Women's Volleyball team, and former home of the Longhorn Basketball and Swimming teams. The basketball teams moved out in 1977 to the Erwin Center. It also serves as the home court for the Austin Aces of World Team Tennis.Originally built in 1930, the gym was named after its main advocate and planner, Thomas Watt Gregory. Gregory, an alumnus of the University, served on the University's Board of Regents and as United States Attorney General before the gym was built.The gymnasium has undergone several renovations, and now consists of the original gym and a four-story annex that serves as a gymnasium with an indoor jogging track, basketball courts, racquetball and squash courts, an indoor rock-climbing wall, a spacious weight room, and a cardiovascular exercise facility. All University students can use the gymnasium for free. The gymnasium is available at a low cost to University alumni and their spouses.

The Department of Theatre and Dance is a world-class educational environment that serves as the ultimate creative incubator for the next generation of artists, thinkers and leaders in theatre and performance. The Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin is among the most established and well regarded geoscience programs in the world, uniting one of the country’s oldest academic departments of geological sciences with two world-renowned research units, the Institute for Geophysics and the Bureau of Economic Geology. The school is home to the country’s largest academic geoscience community with 4,500 alumni, 150 research scientists and faculty members, and the largest combined graduate and undergraduate enrollment of any major earth science program. The Jackson School is both old and new. It traces its origins to a Department of Geology founded in 1888 but became a separate unit at the level of a college only on September 1, 2005. The school’s formation resulted from one of the most generous gifts in the history of higher education when the late John A. and Katherine G. Jackson bequeathed endowments and assets to the university presently valued at over $300 million.
Back in 1992, then-UT students Sean Petries, BS ’93, and Allison Weinstock, BA ’93, were inspired by A&M’s Fish Camp to create the ultimate welcome for UT freshmen. They wanted to build a program that was part informational, part social, and part leadership training. Since that first group of 50 student campers, the Texas Exes has grown Camp Texas beyond its founders’ wildest dreams to a capacity of more than 1,000 Longhorns over the course of six sessions. Today, retreat is one of the Association’s most popular programs for students and a key component in the effort to ensure that UT students enjoy their time on campus and go on to become lifelong and caring alumni.

Student Government (SG) was established in 1902 to serve as the official voice of the student body at The University of Texas at Austin. All students-including undergraduate and graduate students-are members of Student Government. SG represents the student body to the administration of the University, to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, to the City of Austin, to the Texas Legislature and to the US Congress.

Alpha Kappa Psi is an international professional business fraternity that prides itself in creating principled business leaders. Founded in 1915, the Iota chapter is one of the oldest and most prominent organizations at the Mccombs School of Business. Our chapter hosts various events each semester to uphold our three main pillars: professional, service and social. These events range from philanthropic golf tournaments, to wine and cheese events to casuals and formals. We truly do believe we offer our members an amazing college experience while helping mold them into business professionals. The University Residence Hall Association (URHA), started at UT-Austin in 1981, is a student organization committed to improving the quality of residence life for on-campus students. We perform a variety of functions to serve the best interests of our residents. We work very closely with the Division of Housing and Food Services (DHFS), our parent organization, to constantly relay resident input we receive. We serve as the official voice of the residents, and use this to review and change policy as suggested by the residents. We have created two committees this year to deal directly with resident issues. URHA's voting body is comprised of 16 Senators, representing each hall on campus. These senators also serve as Residence Hall Council (RHC) officers in their individual halls. Both URHA and the RHCs implement programming to foster a better sense of community in the residence halls and increase overall development of a community atmosphere. Get involved and you could help out with organizing fun activities. Everyone who resides in a University residence hall is automatically a member of URHA and their hall's RHC. A small portion of every resident's housing fee goes to funding these organizations. You can attend RHC meetings to find out what is going on in your area or URHA meetings to find out what is going on with the entire on-campus population. The Jester East Residence Hall Council is devoted to bettering resident life at UT. Our mission is to foster growth and friendship among the residents of Jester East. The J. East RHC host programs to allow our residents to take a break from studying and have the opportunity to socialize. We also partner with RAs to put on programs. Residents of Jester East can join RHC by attending our bi-weekly meetings held on Mondays at 8:30 pm. Hope to see you there!

With small classes, top professors, individualized coursework, and an active learning community, Liberal Arts Honors broadens students’ worldview and prepares them to lead. Students call this program the best of both worlds—the personal attention of a small liberal arts college with the resources of a major research institution. Since 1990 Liberal Arts Honors has provided gifted students with special opportunities for enriched learning and recognition at every level of their academic careers. Almost 500 students, including 140 freshmen, participate in the program each year. In addition to taking honors coursework focusing on reasoning, research, and writing, Liberal Arts Honors students are encouraged to study abroad and become global citizens. Nearly all participate in internships to help them build professional networks, and define themselves. We are a University of Texas student organization dedicated to bringing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice and instruction to the campus of UT You should come in if you are: • Interested in the sport of Jiujitsu, as we accommodate all ages, backgrounds, genders and levels. • Looking for rolling or training time from high caliber BJJ practitioners. • Or want to figure out what the heck I'm talking about. You should not come if you are: • A serial killer rapist with nine arms and snakes for fingers. We currently have Jeff Rockwell, BJJ black belt instructing two days a week. He's is a badass guys...come see for yourself.
