Pacific Arts Movement (Pac Arts), formerly the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, is one of the largest media arts organizations in North America that focuses on Asian American and Asian international cinema. PACIFIC acknowledges our proud roots in San Diego and the transnational cultures that intersect as part of the Pacific Rim and beyond. While the focus of our ARTS medium is film, we treasure the many forms of storytelling to express boundless stories. The MCRD San Diego Command Museum is located in Day Hall, Building 26, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, San Diego, California. It exhibits historical items relating to the United States Marine Corps. The museum opened on November 10, 1987 and was officially designated as a command museum on January 8, 1993.
What: V Elements (pronounced Five Elements) is a one-day sustainable yoga, music and arts festival. There will be yoga classes by day, led by some of the most sought after instructors California and beyond have to offer, and electronic, funk, hip hop, soul and world music by night from local, regional and national touring artists. When: September 27th, 2014 —This date represents the first weekend of the vernal (spring) equinox when the length of day and night is equal, emphasizing balance. Where: The heart of San Diego at The Broadway Pier Why: V Elements Festival will focus on balancing the five elements represented by earth, wind, fire, water, and space. We will display this through the use of yoga, music, community, health and environment. Who: The producers of this event are Indie Yoga (www.indieyogasd.com), Alternative Power Productions (www.altpproductions.com), Madero Group (www.maderogroup.com), with sponsorships and partnerships with Green Flash Brewing Co., Surfrider Foundation San Diego Chapter (non-profit partner), City Beat, Uber, Happy-U Namaste, The Untz, Mantra, The Daily Method, Reach Yoga and more... Sustainability: Focused on energy usage and carbon management, V Elements will integrate sustainability throughout the entire event. We will accomplish this through the use of alternatively powered production, which includes the largest solar-powered stage in the country, solar trailers, and biodiesel. V Elements will also work with Carbonfund.org to calculate and offset its carbon footprint through the purchase of carbon offsets. All tickets purchased for Five Elements will include renewable energy credit, offsetting ticket buyers’ estimated travel emissions to and from the event. Other unique sustainable offerings will include paperless marketing, bike valet, shuttle points and more. Five Elements will be the greenest yoga, music and arts festival in the country! Patrick is a kids magician that specializes in magic and puppet performance. He does everything from classroom story time with his amazing puppets to magic birthday parties and shows and places like Jungle Gym and Cafe. Patrick has been performing magic since he was a kid, but started taking performance serious in 2010 when he did performances for a friend's birthday party and his daughter's kindergarten class. Now that his family is established in San Diego, CA, he found that it is a perfect time to jump in and establish himself as a kids performer in this great and beautiful city.
