For over 40 years, Theatre Arlington, located in the heart of Arlington, Texas, has provided the community with high-quality, award-winning theatrical productions to more than 25,000 patrons, while running a year-round theatre school and outreach programs for at risk youth.

Mayor's Youth Commission is a youth organization designed to give Arlington youth a voice to the City Council and Community Leaders on current teen topics. The youth pick a theme each year and volunteer to make a difference with that theme. Around the world and around the corner, the 1.2 million men and women of Rotary - Get involved in their communities - Connect with other professionals - Share their time and experience with young people - Support global causes, such as eradicating polio - Use their skills to help others Whether you're a veteran volunteer or new to community service, we're looking for people like you Below is a list of some of the programs that the Club sponsors: The Flag Program - Rotarians place flags at designated homes that pay the yearly fee of $30.00 during patriotic holidays. Highland Games - We staff a hospitality booth at the Scottish Highland Games that are held at The University of Texas at Arlington stadium each spring. Dunlop Park Creative Playground - The park was originally built by the Club in 1988-1989. In 2005-2006 the park was rebuilt by the Club and is a continuing project for the Club for additions and upgrades to the amenities. Scholarship Program - Each year the club provides scholarship opportunities for local high school seniors entering college. The Club provides $10,000.00 a year in scholarships Holiday Family - the Club supports selected families and provide various items and financial support during the hiolidays. RYLA (Rotarian Youth Leadership Award) - The Club supports RYLA through sponsoring students (High School Juniors/Seniors) to attend RYLA at TWU in Denton, Texas. International Projects - Rotary's signature project is PolioPlus. Rotarians paint schools and hospitals, donate ambulances and buses to various communities. Rotarians participate in water projects. Rotarians donate books, supports St. Jude's school in Aruza, Avoidable Blindness-Cataract Surgeries Project, artificial Limbs program in India and the Wheelchair Foundation Project in Mexico, Brazil and Peru. Speaker's Gift - The Club in lieu of a speaker's gift donates a book, signed by the speaker, to a local school library.

Kiwanis clubs, located in 80 nations, help communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different—so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen. Kiwanis Clubs around the world have always been concerned with and involved in the welfare of young people and their families. Membership is open to all men and women, regardless of color, creed or religious affiliation. Kiwanis Sponsored Youth Programs include: K-Kids for students between the ages of 6 & 12, Builders Club for middle and junior high age students, Key Club International for high school students, Circle K International for university students. Local Kiwanis Clubs sponsor the various school age clubs. Advisors for clubs in schools are from school administration and staff. Kiwanis International empowers people at every stage of life to become competent, capable and compassionate leaders by helping them learn to help others. A Little Family Service provides services to individuals with intellectual disabilities who are in the Home and Community-based Service program (HCS) in the DFW area (please see our list of counties served below). The HCS program is a Medicaid waiver program through the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Please scroll down to see our CURRENT RATES. A Little Family Service is owned and operated by the Little family who believe in treating everyone like family. We work hard to provide the best services possible to help enhance the lives of our Consumers. Luca Little, the owner and CEO of A Little Family Service, knows that our Consumers deserve BOTH quality services and competitive rates. We believe that it is important to: 1. Be easily accessible to our Consumers and their caregivers, 2. Meet our Consumers needs in a timely fashion 3. Exhibit professionalism and compassion in all of our interactions. Additionally, we strive to provide the highest Foster Care provider rates in the State of Texas. We not only give 100% of the Direct Care rate allotted by the state, but we also pay 20% of the indirect care rate. We currently serve the following Texas counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Johnson, Navarro and Tarrant
Since Super Bowl XXVII in 1993, when the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills in Los Angeles 52 -17, the National Football League has donated $1 million to establish education enrichment centers called Youth Education Towns in each city where the Super Bowl is played as a lasting legacy of the game. In 2011, NFL Charities, the Dallas Cowboys, and the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee selected The Salvation Army to operate the region’s first Youth Education Town in Arlington, Texas. An additional $1 million grant was awarded to The Salvation Army from the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Charities. The North Texas Youth Education Town will help solve problems in Arlington, Texas’ 7th largest city. About 7% of families and 10% of the population live below the poverty line, including 12% of children and teens. Here are some of the challenges Arlington faces: • 22 gangs have been identified in Arlington. • 42% of Arlington students fail to graduate in 4 years. • 31 % of Arlington fourth graders failed one or more sections of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. • 27% of Arlington parents need an after-school or summer program for their children. • 14% of Arlington parents had recently left a child alone or in the care of a sibling too young for the responsibility. • 34,500 Arlington students qualify for free or reduced lunches. The North Texas Youth Education Town is part of The Salvation Army’s Arlington community center and family shelter. The facility is located on the edge of the Downtown District, adjacent to University of Texas at Arlington’s campus. The center offers a comprehensive array of personal development activities to encourage self-esteem, leadership, respect, cultural appreciation and optional Bible study. These programs not only build on the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic but go beyond into technology and computer literacy, homework help, tutoring programs, a life lessons curriculum, nutrition and creative arts programs. Kids can experience the Dallas Cowboys Fitness Zone, the ultimate youth workout experience, offering a combination of youth-size exercise machines and electronic games incorporating full body movement. YET also offers a variety of recreational and organized sports activities in the gym and on the YET athletic field.
Our purpose is to promote active citizenship and strengthen our community by creating a role for students to become involved in community service and provide tools and resources to the UTA community. WHY SHOULD I VOLUNTEER? Volunteering feels good! Volunteering is about giving back to the community, getting to know others, spending volunteering time with friends, sharing expertise to help with unique projects, gaining new experiences, and acquiring new skills. Volunteering is about building a close relationship with your community and offering your hands and mind to help others. Our community needs helping hands and who better to do it than a Maverick! WHAT'S MY ROLE? Attend our general body meetings to help plan events. Our general body meetings are every Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Student Congress Chambers, located in the upper level of the University Center. You can also be elected for a Director position or serve as an Event Chair. Directors lead a UTA Volunteers committee and are responsible for overseeing programs and services and developing agency partnerships within the community. Event chairs are elected to plan and implement specific programs throughout the school year. Anyone can get involved with UTA Volunteers. As a student, faculty, or staff, you are welcome to participate in UTA Volunteers programs and services.

Living Water International Ministries, Inc. is a non profit Christian service organization based in Arlington, Texas that provides families inside and outside of the United States with physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual support. We have formed partnerships with schools and churches and support all aspects of education. The main goal of Living Water International, Inc. is to share the gospel and exhibit the love of Jesus Christ to people while doing mission work.
