I have a private practice in Old Town San Diego. I have a masters degree in counseling psychology and I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I specialize in the treatment of individual's who suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction related problems. If you feel you're at a crossroads in your life, or if you feel stuck I can try to help you move forward. I believe that human beings have a tremendous capacity to heal and to be resilient. Coming to therapy can be a positive first step to getting help and to heal from the inside out. During the therapeutic process I will help you gain insight into maladaptive behaviors and or distorted cognitions which may be holding you back from true happiness. I will teach you positive coping skills and provide you with tools to achieve and maintain your treatment goals. I follow a collaborative approach to therapy and draw upon many different interventions and techniques that specifically fit each client's treatment goals and problems. I believe that therapy should be about working together in a non-judgmental warm environment and this is the foundation that can evoke change within a person.
Investing in Youth and the Environment... The Urban Corps trains young adults in job skills designed to enhance the environment for all residents of San Diego County. Conserving precious resources, recycling to protect our Earth, landscaping and tree planting to beautify and preserve public lands-these are just some of the projects that Urban Corps utilizes to teach job and community responsibility. Corpsmembers attend our onsite Urban Corps Charter School every other week to earn their high school diploma and work with counselors from teh Corps-to-Career Dept. to prepare themselves for a successful transition into the mainstream workforce and post secondary education.
