Our brand-new meeting rooms, forum room, second-story porch, and courtyard with bandstand offer beautiful views overlooking Cypress Lake and the campus oaks. The College offers bachelor’s degrees in seven areas of business: accounting; economics; finance; insurance and risk management; management; marketing; and professional land and resource management. Master’s programs include MBA, Executive MBA and an MS in Accounting. The Moody Executive Institute offers executive development programs to serve the needs of organizations in the Greater Acadiana region. More than 3,000 students are enrolled in our College, which in concert with UL Lafayette contributes to the economic prosperity of Acadiana by enabling our diverse student body to succeed in a broad range of organizations and activities. We accomplish this through the following: Students • Admitting, retaining, and graduating quality students, • Fostering knowledge and integration of traditional business disciplines, • Teaching effective responses to contemporary managerial challenges, and • Facilitating career progression in a global economic environment. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a coeducational, public, research university in Lafayette, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. It has the largest enrollment within the nine-campus University of Louisiana System and has the second largest enrollment in Louisiana.Founded in 1898 as an industrial school, the institution developed into a four-year university during the twentieth century and became known by its present name in 1999. UL Lafayette evolved into a national research university as noted by its Carnegie R2 categorization as a "Doctoral University: Higher Research Activity." It offers Louisiana's only Ph.D. in francophone studies and Louisiana's only industrial design degree. The university has achieved several milestones in computer science, engineering and architecture. It is also home to a distinct College of the Arts.HistoryTimeline 1898 – State legislation passed allowing for creation of Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute . 1899 – Board of Trustees Establish and donation of 25 acres of land by Girard family. 1900 – Construction began and Dr. Edwin Stephens named President. 1901 – SLII opened September 18 with 100 students and eight faculty members. 1903 – 18 students were the first to graduate from SLII in two separate ceremonies. 1920 – Began a four-year course culminating with a bachelor of arts degree. 1921 – SLII was changed into the Southwestern Louisiana Institute of Liberal and Technical Learning . 1960 – SLI became the University of Southwestern Louisiana . 1974 — The College of Sciences was officially formed. 1984 – USL attempted to change its name to the University of Louisiana, which only lasted less than a month until overturned by an act of the state legislature, though two schools had previously changed their names using the same technique without outside interference. 1997 – University's privately held assets reach $75 million. 1999 – USL was renamed the University of Louisiana at Lafayette .

The University Archives and Acadiana Manuscripts Collection houses the archival records of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette starting in 1900. There are also over 300 collections of personal or family papers, business or organizational records, photograph collections, oral histories and much more related to the Acadiana region of Louisiana. The Louisiana Room houses the Dupré Library's collection of published materials relating to Louisiana, including all subject areas and most formats. The Rare Books Collection contains items published before 1900, and items that have intrinsic value such as limited editions or copies inscribed by the author. The Ernest J. Gaines Center is an international center for scholarship on African-American author Ernest Gaines and his work. The Cajun and Creole Music Collection consists of over 9,000 commercial recordings, selected unpublished or field recordings and other materials on the many genres and styles of the Creole and Cajun musical cultures of Southwest Louisiana. U.S. Government Information encompasses publications compiled or created by the federal government, at government expense or as required by law. The Microforms Room contains the Dupré Library's collection of materials on microform (mostly microfilm and microfiche), including back issues of newspapers and periodicals and a variety of other materials.

We can accommodate anything event including corporate meetings, family gatherings, weddings (ceremony, reception and/or rehearsal dinner), Christmas parties, social events, graduation celebrations, reunions, educational seminars, religious functions (Ballroom opens to Wisdom Church), annual association meetings, etc. Our largest space, Atchafalaya Ballroom, can accommodate up to 800 people with an additional 20 breakouts.

The Association of Future Alumni, known around the campus as AFA, is the chapter of the Alumni Association open to all students, in any major enrolled at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The main purpose of this organization is to instill in its members a life-long sense of commitment and pride for our University. Meetings are held at the Alumni Center’s board room located directly behind the Alumni house. Becoming an ambassador of AFA gives students the opportunity to network with members of the Alumni Association, and also provides great resume development. Networking occurs at events held year round such as homecoming events, tailgating, and the annual Spring Gala. Discounts to local and national businesses are offered to members as well as free food and beverages at each meeting.
Graduate School at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers rigorous scholarship in a distinctive setting.
