Founded in 1891, SU is a Jesuit Catholic university located in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. The University has more than 7500 students and U.S. News and World Report ranks SU in the top 10 universities in the West.
Seattle University opened its three-story, 64,000 square-foot Student center in the fall quarter of 2002. The building houses a variety of student services, meeting facilities, a conference center and the main campus cafeteria. The center also includes two collegia (home-like spaces with kitchen facilities and study areas), a 20-foot fireplace and hearth, a bistro and commuter facilities.
The Seattle Science Foundation is advancing the quality of patient care through education, research, innovation and technology. Through our international communication platform we bring together medical and scientific communities from around the world and provide all of the tools necessary for physicians and researchers to make groundbreaking advancements in the field of medicine.
The International Student Center (ISC) is a focal point for student activities and programs of a global, cultural, educational and social nature, and is a gathering place for Seattle University’s international and domestic students and student organizations. The ISC is committed to supporting the academic and Jesuit mission of Seattle University and the strategic priority of Global Engagement by working closely with campus partners in supporting over 660 international students from 63 countries around the world. Furthermore, the Center staff creates opportunities for all SU students to learn about each other’s culture and geographic region and identity. The ISC plans large-scale events like International Education Week and the International Dinner while providing assistance to our international students in all matters pertaining to immigration, visa status, document certification, employment authorization and more. Our office also offers cultural adjustment and academic assistance to our international students and the Center encourages all domestic students to get actively involved in the I-Buddy Program, International Dinner Series, and in the various international clubs at SU to ensure they are globally engaging during their SU experience.
