The University Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the south campus of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is the home field of the New Mexico Lobos football team of the Mountain West Conference. The stadium opened in September 1960 and currently has a seating capacity of 39,224. The newly installed synthetic turf surface field runs in the traditional north-south configuration and sits at an elevation of 5100 feet (1554 m) above sea level.HistoryReplacement of ZimmermanThe stadium replaced Zimmerman Field, a 16,000-seat stadium which was located just south of the current Zimmerman Library. The main campus would expand with removing the old field, room for campus facilities, and a new humanities building now stand in the space. The university purchased land south of campus, near the corner of Avenida Cesar Chavez and University Boulevard for the current stadium. This land became the "south campus", which includes WisePies Arena (aka The Pit) and Isotopes Park, the Lobo Tennis Club, Lobo Field, Lobo Softball field, the Rudy Davalos Basketball Center and buildings housing the athletics department as well as the football stadium.

The New Mexico School Leadership Institute (NMSLI) was created by the New Mexico Legislature to establish a system of leadership development for New Mexico schools and districts. NMSLI's purpose - to assist in recruiting, preparing, mentoring, and supporting strong leaders for New Mexico schools, and to provide professional development and support for school principals and other educational leaders - was defined in a 2009 Senate Joint Memorial. Legislation directing NMSLI to create a collaborative infrastructure for strengthening school and district leadership, and to help improve student outcomes through recruitment, preparation and professional support was enacted in 2010. NMSLI's goal is to create systemic change in leadership development. The organization is beginning with five very specific initiatives: •intensive support for leadership in schools in need of improvement, •providing support and mentoring for new principals, •professional development and support for aspiring superintendents, •providing collegial support and mentoring for new superintendents, and •principal and administrative licensure requirements.

The Church of Light teachings as outlined by C.C. Zain in 21 Courses, provides reliable and verifiable information regarding the nature of the soul and its relationship to Deity and other life forms. We seek out reliable and verifiable information regarding life on higher planes of existence, especially in regard to the transition we call death and the nature of the next life. We develop increasingly advanced tools and training in astrology, extrasensory perception, directed thinking and induced emotion toward the end of maximizing each person's happiness, usefulness and spirituality. We promote the importance of the four essential freedoms: Freedom from Want, Freedom from Fear, Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Religion. We build a sense of community and spiritual purpose which uplifts and inspires our members to Contribute Their Utmost To Universal Welfare.
Professor Yiannakis founded Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu, a Japanese-based martial art, at the University of Connecticut in 1982. Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu is a holistic, comprehensive system of unarmed combat and self defense, and due to its battlefield origins may be described as the original integrated "mixed" martial art. The system has a basis, in form and philosophy, in Koryu Bujutsu (classical martial arts) but as an evolved system it may be best described as a modern martial art that adheres strictly to its classical moorings. Unlike most classical, or classically-based systems in which free sparring plays a minimal role, Wa Shin Ryu stresses the development of effective combative skills by training students in live sparring situations (randori) in distance, close quarter and ground fighting contexts. Such forms of training develop sustained focused concentration, superior coordination and timing, and create for students a high degree of realism that set routines and repetition training alone (a central feature of most classical systems) cannot provide. However, the purpose of such intensive training is not to make students violent. The goal is to empower them so that they may walk away with confidence, if that is deemed the appropriate response at the time. An effective martial artist is an empowered individual. And an empowered individual has the confidence to make choices and decide whether to engage in violence, or to contain/defuse a situation by other means. Thus, in the modern world an empowered martial artist is a type of person who, by having many options, can make the choice to avoid/prevent violence, or when the situation demands can save himself/herself and others. The unempowered individual has no such options or choices! In developing the system the Founder integrated the traditions of the old, with the best of the new, to form a budo system that serves: (1) As a personal discipline, (2) as a way of life, (3) as an effective combative/self defense system, (4) as a pathway to empowerment, and (5) as a path to self actualization (the ultimate goal of the system) in the physical, psychological and spiritual domains. The class/club includes both male and female students and occasional guest participation is encouraged. At UNM our classes for Beginning/Intermediate (Fall & Spring) and Intermediate/Advanced students (for 2 credits) are held on Tues/Thurs 2.00 - 3.20pm and 2.30-5pm (in Auxiliary Gym, Johnson Center). At Sandia Budokan (our off-campus private club) we also hold Intermediate/Advanced workouts (non-credit) on Mon/Wed, 7.00-9.15pm and on Sats 2.00-5.00pm. The club is located on Silver and Yale SE, one block south of UNM.. Monthly dues range from $25-$45. Wa Shin Ryu Jujutsu is also taught at the University of Connecticut, at Eastern Connecticut State University, and at Illinois State University in Chicago.

The Museum of Southwestern Biology (MSB) is a research and teaching facility in the Department of Biology at the University of New Mexico. The MSB houses collections of vertebrates, arthropods, plants, and genomic materials from the American Southwest and throughout the world. It is primarily a research museum, although tours of the facility can be scheduled by appointment. The MSB’s Division of Mammals contains over 250,000 cataloged specimens dating from the late 1800s. Collections are worldwide in scope with particularly strong holdings from Western North America, Beringia, and Latin America.
