The Ethnic Cultural Center & Theatre Complex (ECC) opened in 1972 in response to student demands for greater diversity in educational programming. The ECC was designed to provide a supportive, nurtuing atmosphere to enhance student academic performance. The Ethnic Cultural Theatre (ECT) is an important part of the design. Its purpose is to increase awareness of all cultures through the performing arts. For almost 40 years, the Ethnic Cultural Center and its theatre have been at the center of the university’s effort to encourage both cross-cultural exchange and learning beyond the classroom.
Public Announcement from Edison Huang Regarding Generation Gaming Cafe: For the past eight months, allegations have been made against an owner of Generation Gaming Café. These claims have been made by another owner who is involved in an operations dispute. Allegations have included disparaging remarks about the largest owner’s character and integrity. More recently, the minority owner has without court or other approval closed down the business operations of Generation Gaming Café. The business’ largest owner is currently exploring ways to restore business operations and to fairly deal with GGC members and customers. 5.7.2014

The Zone offers service 3-hours prior to kick-off and at halftime every UW home football game. Food, beverage and beer and wine only are available for purchase from The Metropolitan Grill. Fans are required to have a game ticket in order to enter The Zone. The entrance(s) to The Zone are the NE & SE Husky Stadium gates. Restrooms for The Zone are located behind the East end zone stands of Husky Stadium. No outside food or beverage is allowed inside The Zone and alcoholic beverages may not be taken from The Zone into Husky Stadium. Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium is an outdoor football stadium on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, United States. It has been the home of the Washington Huskies of the Pac-12 Conference since 1920, hosting its football games. The university also holds its annual commencement at the stadium in June. It is located at the southeastern corner of campus, between Montlake Boulevard N.E. and Union Bay, just north of the Montlake Cut. The stadium is served by the University of Washington light rail station, as well as several bus routes.The stadium most recently underwent a $280 million renovation that was completed in 2013. Its U-shaped design was specifically oriented to minimize glare from the early afternoon sun in the athletes' eyes. The open end overlooks scenic Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains, including Mount Rainier. Prior to the 2011–13 renovation, its total capacity of 72,500 made it the largest stadium in the Pacific Northwest and the 23rd largest in college football.
