As soon as you walk through Sully's doors you feel like you're at home. The bartenders are warm and friendly and the saloon itself is packed with regulars.
Working with like-minded, community-focused Seattleites, Teri Hein started the Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas, originally incorporated as Pencilhead, in 2004. Fearless Ideas, under the name of 826 Seattle, began offering drop-in tutoring after school in October 2005. Shortly thereafter, we added evening and weekend writing workshops. In December 2005, we welcomed the first field trip by a public school class (a shout out to Ms. Dunker's fifth graders from Greenwood Elementary!). By 2014 with long waiting lists for all programs and an impressive list of awards, including the National Youth Arts and Humanities award presented by First Lady Michelle Obama, 826 Seattle decided to expand its offerings and locations and to rebrand under its new name: the Greater Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas.
The Pathway of Lights is presented by Seattle Parks and Recreation. It is always the second Saturday in December, from 4:30pm-7:30pm. This annual tradition brings neighbors, friends, families and Seattle together to light up the night during one of the darkest months of the year in a celebration of light and the many holidays of December. Volunteer music groups and volunteers to help with the event needed!
