National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, commonly referred to as NASSCO, is an American shipbuilding company with three shipyards located in San Diego, California, Norfolk, Virginia and Mayport, Florida. It is a division of General Dynamics. The San Diego shipyard specializes in constructing commercial cargo ships and auxiliary vessels for the US Navy and Military Sealift Command; it is the only new-construction shipyard on the West Coast of the United States. The Virginia shipyard primarily performs ship repairs and conversions for the U.S. Navy.HistoryThe origin of NASSCO traces to 1905 and a small machine shop and foundry known as California Iron Works. In 1922 California Iron Works was taken over by U.S. National Bank and renamed National Iron Works. In 1944 National Iron Works moved to its present location at 28th Street and Harbor Drive on San Diego Bay, and in 1949 the company was renamed National Steel and Shipbuilding Co. to reflect its expansion into ship construction. In 1959 the company was acquired by four owners, including Henry J. Kaiser Company and Morrison Knudsen. In 1979 Morrison Knudsen bought out Kaiser's share, and in 1989 management acquired the company from Morrison Knudsen via an employee stock ownership plan.

How can we save you literally Thousands of Dollars! Never, EVER Bottom Paint your boat again! Just look at the UGLY growth that endlessly develops on the bottom of your hull, season after season. This will not only affect the way your boat performs but can lead to extremely high repair bills as well. We can offer you a way to STOP and eliminate this from ever occurring simply by using our Armored Hull Boat Shields. When you choose to bottom paint your boat hull, you must apply new paint every two years. With Armored Hull you just have the one time payment - it will pay for itself within one bottom painting session. Our main frame is a 100% sealed tube with a foam core, custom fit to exact size and means lifelong guaranteed ability to stay afloat and nothing to worry about. Our patented 'Air Gate' design is the ONLY one like it in the market place and that means you're in and out of your Armoredhull Boat Shield in no time! Our liner bag by itself can be replaced and reattached to the main frame and means you don't have to buy everything all over again later. You and your boat are fighting a losing battle against marine growth, electrolysis as well as corrosion. Here are just a few benefits that an Armoredhull Boat Shield can offer: Never use Bottom Paint again - (by bottom painting you DE-crease the value of your boat). • A smooth hull surface gives increased fuel economy and speed. • Zincs last 2-3 times longer. • No Monthly diver fees. • Never worry about electrolysis from other boats. • Reduced risk of engine problems. GO GREEN!!!! Reduces any possible oil spillage into the water and no more bottom paint chips on the bottom of the ocean floor. Easy to use our patent "Air Gate System" for ease of access in and out of your liner. Armoredhull Boat Shields are easily installed in any slip and are attached with ropes to existing dock cleats. The Armoredhull Boat Shield liner itself, which forms the 'poo'l, is suspended from our unique flotation collar. Your boater enters and exits the pool through our patented 'Air Gate', located at the rear of the enclosure. The gate lowers with the turn of a valve and is raised in less than 60 seconds with a simple hand or electric pump. We have standard sizes up to 50 feet and can custom build to any size.
