Family owned and operated since 1976, Spankys serves up the worlds best chicken finger! The story goes like this, in 1976, a few friends wanted to start a restaurant on River Street in Savannah. Then, the booming River Street we know today was only a dirt road, with only a few spots for dining on the waterfront. Enter two innovative friends who cut up a few pieces of tender, white meat chicken, battered and fried them to perfection, and said to each other 'hey, son, lets call them chicken fingers!' And so Spanky's was born, and its still run by the same man and his family and loyal wonderful staff today! Come on down and dine on a piece of Savannah history with us--we're waitin' on ya!
Vic’s is located in a beautiful old cotton warehouse overlooking the Savannah River and Historic River Street. With entrances on both Bay and River Streets, we are easy to access. Pets are welcomed on our outdoor patio, where guests can dine under centuries-old Live Oaks overlooking Historic Factors Walk. Along with our spectacular views, Vic’s menu reflects Savannah’s Southern charm with our sophisticated take on traditional Southern cuisine and our fresh, local seafood selections. The Staff at Vic's On The River invite you to come and experience our gracious and attentive service... where nothing is overlooked but the Savannah River.
The World's Greatest Daiquiris and great food located in City Market, the commercial and social center of historic Savannah since the 1700's, on the original site of the market used by farmers and traders of all kinds to sell their goods and wares. This charming, open air-marketplace has a wealth of things to do in Savannah whether you come for the entertainment, to shop, dine or just rest your weary feet. And Chefs Paul England and Matt Russ serve up some tasty meals! PLEASE REMEMBER, DRINKING AND DRIVING DON’T MIX. Wet Willie’s drinks taste great, but contain more alcohol than most “normal” bar drinks. PLEASE drink in moderation. Our staff will not serve anyone who appears intoxicated. Please don’t be offended if you are refused service. If you need assistance in obtaining transportation, please ask to speak to a manager. They will be glad to help you.
The first Huey's was opened in Atlanta by Mr. Bobby Isaacson. With such success he decided to open a Huey's in Savannah, Ga. He found the perfect spot in an old cotton warehouse that was built in 1815, located on beautiful river street! So, in July of 1987, Huey's on the River was born. A few years after opening his New Orleans restaurant, Bobby would soon have a new neighbor, Bill Hall. As fate would have it, Bill was born and raised on the bayous of New Iberia, Louisiana which is only 5 minutes from Avery Island, the birthplace of Tabasco Sauce. Although his work with the Waffle House is what brought Bill to Savannah, his love for Cajun food could not be ignored. After plenty of recipe swapping, Bobby convinced Bill to join him at Huey's and become his partner. Eventually, Bobby wanted to explore other business ventures and so Bill bought him out and the rest is History. Huey's is and always has been family owned and operated. The key to our success is in the hands of our wonderful staff, most importantly the ones who have been with us since the beginning. Ashlynn Boley started working at Huey's in 1987 hosting and making beignets. In 1995 she returned as a manager and eventually became our general manager. Mrs. Angela was hired to run our prep kitchen before our doors even opened. Mrs. Lavonia and Mrs. Cheryl, who run our kitchen line, have both been with us since our first year of operation. Tony Anderson, who has been a loyal employee, came to work with us in 1989 and Sharon Love joined our team in 1993. They are two of our top servers. None of this would be possible without their and many others hard work and dedication. It is our hope that our beautiful location, dedicated staff, and our genuine Louisiana style food will all come together to give our guests the perfect dining experience. Just make sure to save room for beignets!
We are known for WINGS and RIBS! It's what we do best. Our wings are not battered or fried, they are smoked for 2.5 hours using our own 5 spice dry rub. The RIBS are the best in Chatham County! After 4.5 hours in the smoker, we use a traditional sweet, brown BBQ sauce and serve them fresh daily.... sure to LITERALLY "fall off the bone"! We also smoke our very own Boston Butts, so pulled pork sandwiches are a house favorite! Fresh produce, hand-pattied CAB burgers, whole wheat wraps, and even homemade PIZZA dough! Full bar serving until 3am and a staff that is sure to give you Savannah's true Southern experience. From the hospitality to the food to the late night libations, JJ Bonerz is sure to have everything you need for a great experience.
