Huntingdon College, founded in 1854, is a coeducational liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, United States.HistoryHuntingdon College was chartered on February 2, 1854, as "Tuskegee Female College" by the Alabama State Legislature and Governor John A. Winston. The first president was Andrew Adgate Lipscomb. Dr. Lipscomb laid the foundation of the college as a teaching college rather than a research institution.In 1872 the name was changed to "Alabama Conference Female College" as the college came under the auspices of the United Methodist Church. As the college and the South struggled to rebuild following the Civil War, it became clear to college leaders that growth and stability were dependent upon relocation to a more populous city—and they chose the state's capital. A 58-acre (235,000 m²) parcel of land on what was then the outskirts of town and is now the beautiful Old Cloverdale neighborhood of Montgomery was selected in 1908. The design for the landscape of the campus was provided by Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., who had also planned the Biltmore Estate. The college, renamed once again to "Woman's College of Alabama," moved all of its furniture, lab chemicals, and records into Hamner Hall in Montgomery August 24, 1909, but the building burned to the ground that night, destroying the records of the college's first 50 years and all of its belongings. As the students and President William Martin moved to Sullins College in Virginia for that school year, construction continued on the college's first building, John Jefferson Flowers Memorial Hall. Completed in 1910 and designed by Harvard architect H. Langford Warren, Flowers Hall was designed to emulate the collegiate Gothic architecture of Oxford and Cambridge, England, and of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and set the tone for the pervasive architectural style of campus buildings henceforth.
Located in Montgomery AL, (voted the "Best Historic City in 2014"). The W.A. Gayle Planetarium features over 159 theater style seats and is one of the largest Planetariums between Atlanta and New Orleans. During the past five years, close to 100,000 K-12 students have attended a variety of daily educational shows.
Troy University at Montgomery is a satellite campus of Troy University and is located in Montgomery, Alabama. The campus is located in the western part of downtown, and includes the Rosa Parks Museum and Library, the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts, and portions of the historic Bell Building. The university also operates the W.A. Gayle Planetarium in Oak Park.The campus has its roots in extension courses offered at Maxwell Air Force Base in the 1950s. A separate Troy State College teaching center was established at Maxwell in 1965, which led to the creation of the present-day Montgomery Campus. In 1982, the Montgomery and Dothan campuses were granted independent accreditation, and the Troy State University System was formed. In April 2004, "State" was dropped from the University's name to reflect the institution's new, broader focus. ASU’s BFA/Dance Program is the first dance program in the state of Alabama to offer a BFA degree in dance. ASU’s BFA in dance degree is performance-focused and prepares students to confidently enter into a career as a professional dance artist. The program provides a rigorous and comprehensive dance curriculum designed to produce high-caliber, diverse and technically proficient dance artists who will contribute to the field of dance regionally, nationally and globally. With ballet and modern as foundational techniques, students can further choose African, Hip Hop, jazz or tap as focused electives. Admission into the program, as a major or a minor, is by audition only. Huntingdon's Chemistry & Biochemistry Department continues a long tradition of providing students with a nationally competitive curriculum, excellent advising, career and vocation assistance, opportunities to work alongside professors on undergraduate research projects and present and publish results in national venues. "The Institute of Israel" formed back in 2006 and is founded by Ahraya Lachaama (Chris Miles) who study under, "THE ISUPK," 1 West Harlem New York. The Institute of Israel is headquartered and base out of Montgomery, AL., They are located at, 954 Highland Ave, Montgomery, AL 36104. Many of you may know the history of city of Montgomery, AL., Montgomery is central and was one of the major depot to the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade the remnants of slavery still remains from ownership to the children of slaves, and the establishment is quick to remind you of your place. Montgomery is home of the racist element of the confederacy, who's slogan is, "It's Heritage NOT hate," and the grandsons and granddaughters of that racist era are still in tact on the police force, court rooms and running business etc., in the city of Montgomery. Also, you all know the civil rights movement came directly out of Montgomery. Because of the racism and the killings of Israelites (African Americans) something had to change so the blacks in city of Montgomery became essential for for leading the change for the betterment for Israelites (African Americans) across the country and the world for that matter and it all happened out of the city of Montgomery. So, out of this era came Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King but they were NOT, the first to fight or lead the charge against Jim Crow and racism from Montgomery but they were connected to the NAACP so they became the face for it, for change. As, you all know about the bombing of Martin Luther King's home by the KKK, the Selma to Montgomery and the bombing of the 16 Street Baptist Church and all the other racist elements that came from Alabama, George Wallace etc. Now many, many years later as we are directly in the last faze of the last days the most High has raised up young men from the city of Montgomery, to teach and train the minds of Israelites (Africans Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans) who got displace because of the white supremacy which is christianity and the civil rights movement which never change anything for black people but gave them a falsehood that things would be better but that never happened. Now there's hope, because of, "The Institute of Israel," young men who are kings, prophets and priest of the most High who have dedicated their lives to the cause to bring the temple back to The Lord by giving true Israel by blood back their nationality that was stolen and lost because of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, which came through Montgomery, and misunderstood and mislead by the civil rights movement and giving a false hope which originated out of Montgomery. NOW real hope and change comes because of men of The Lord who are from Montgomery, which is the "The IOI." The Institute has officially set up a school, in Montgomery, all praises giving to the most High in Christ. The building that is now operated by "The IOI," has a lot of his history attached to it good and bad. It is the men of "The IOI" prayer and demands to take this building in downtown Montgomery in the historical black business district entitled, "Centennial Hills," right around the street from the home of Martin Luther King Jr. in walking distance and four and half block from the Daxter Ave Baptist church where King preached, and directly four block from the Southern Poverty Law Center and change the landscape for Black and Brown people who are under the foot and ostracism of white supremacy and boogie Negro preachers. It is, "The Institute of Israel," soul purpose to teach and educated as well as to feed the children of Israel with knowledge and food. In closing, "The Institute of Israel," praises the most High for this opportunity because we are central right in the middle of all of this history and this historical area that has meant so much to the so call Negros through out America. We have always said at "The IOI," everything that deals with our people from the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade - Slavery, the racist Confederacy and the Civil Rights Movements - Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks and more, all started and happened right here in Montgomery, right in the area where our building sets. Check the history! The Institute of Israel," are right in the mist of all this history, and we are the ones who will change this history, for the nation and the children of Israel which are the so call African Americans, so call Hispanics and so call Native Americans, who all still remain in Montgomery, AL.
