At the age of 9, Nino Germano left Bafia, Sicily to move to Baltimore joining relatives and in search of the American Dream. His father established a successful construction company but Nino held a strong passion for great Italian food. Under his mother’s tutelage in the kitchen, Nino opened an Italian restaurant and pizzeria, Zia Pina. It was successful enough to open a second location. In 1994, Nino decided to challenge himself further, he sold the initial restaurants and opened La Scala—a cozy 13 table restaurant located in Little Italy. His philosophy was simple—provide great traditional, home-style cooking with quality ingredients and personal attention. His approach worked. Chef and Owner, Nino Germano, treats his patrons “as if they were in his own home.” You will often see Chef Nino personally checking on the diners and making sure everyone is enjoying their meal. La Scala has expanded after recent renovations and now contains Baltimore’s only indoor Bocce court as well as two private dining rooms and a wine room. La Scala is highly rated in the Zagat Survey; has been voted “Baltimore’s Best Italian Restaurant” in the annual City Paper poll; voted one of the top ten restaurants by OL’s City's Best, as well as being featured in the Baltimore Sun and Baltimore Magazine.

Offering re-invented classic American diner fare, the Family Meal concept has been wildly successful across the mid-Atlantic region. The 6,000 square-foot Baltimore location, with additional outdoor dining space, will serve regionally-influenced variations of crowd favorites. “For years, we’ve had Baltimore families travel to our restaurants in D.C. and Frederick, and this restaurant will give us a chance to bring families together over a great meal in their own backyard,” says Chef Voltaggio. “We’re thrilled to be a part of this community and think Family Meal will make a great addition to Baltimore’s Harbor.”
Chicken Rico is proud to offer our customers the best Peruvian chicken outside Peru. Marinated with a 40 year old family recipe, our chicken is cooked over fiery charcoal in our large rotisserie ovens. Our stores also offer traditional Peruvian dishes, along with sandwiches and salads. We promise to work tirelessly to deliver you the best quality food in the area. A family business in every sense, Chicken Rico opened its doors in 1970 in Lima, Peru with Dora Giordano at the helm. Dora quickly won over customers with her signature mouth-watering chicken and welcoming environment. In 1995, ownership was handed down to Dora's daughter, Mirian Giordano. Mirian, along with her husband, Fernando Sanchez, sought to bring Peruvian cuisine to the United States. Just a few years later, the couple opened their first restaurant in Falls Church, VA, under the name Super Chicken. To this day, nearly 20 years later, they are continuing Dora's tradition of providing customers with an unforgettable experience and the tastiest Peruvian chicken around. We hope you stop by to experience what Peruvian chicken is all about.
Welcome to Ruth's Chris Steak House. Look around. Have a seat. If this is your first visit, prepare to taste the greatest steak you've ever eaten. As founder Ruth Fertel used to say, "If you've ever had a filet this good, welcome back." We take steak seriously, but we're also serious about making sure you have a good time. So you won't find the stodgy, uptight attitude you might find at other steak houses. Feel free to laugh out loud. Stay a while. Experience the sizzle. Above all, enjoy yourself.
"The new Joe Squared, like the old, has an enjoyable outdoor seating area for people-watching. Inside, you'll find a coffee house-meets-sushi-bar vibe, with long counters at the bar and along the art-covered walls. The night we went, there was even a guy playing a ukulele in the corner (live music is featured most nights)." John Houser III - Baltimore Sun

“A shimmering gem... the food is terrific… Persian food shines at Ozra.” - The Baltimore Sun "An understated, elegant setting as a backdrop for their wonderfully aromatic skewers, stews, and selection of basmati rices... truly a find." - Baltimore Magazine 4.5 out of 5 Stars- OpenTable.com The inspiration for Ozra comes from three unique vantage points. First, we have tried to create an elegant, yet simple, dining environment which we believe will captivate any selective patron. Second, our love of authentic Persian and Mediterranean cuisines comes together in a carefully crafted menu and wine list, which offers something to please all. And finally, a family owned and operated establishment ensures you get a personal welcome and friendly service when you dine with us. We hope to live up to your expectations on all three fronts!
