Opera NEO is a venture for young opera singers created to prepare and inspire them to grow and perform at the highest level. Participation in the program is based on a highly selective national audition process. Selected singers are voice majors in conservatories and college music programs, and post-graduate young professionals. Opera NEO helps the most talented singers by providing training and experience to unlock their full potential and develop into independent and successful artists. Singers receive voice lessons, acting and movement classes, master classes, audition techniques training and other seminars related to opera performance. The workshop culminates in public performances of fully staged operas and other events. Opera NEO focuses on contemporary interpretation of classic and baroque works. The company performs at small, intimate venues to bring opera close to viewers and strives to create experiences for San Diego area audiences that invest in the future of opera and enrich the life of the local community.

The Recreation Tourism Student Association (RTSA) is a recognized, on campus, student run organization that is comprised of Recreation majors and those interested in recreation. The club was established to encourage fellow Recreation majors to get acquainted and connected with one another as well as professionals working in the field. Just like our mission statement: "We are bridging the gap between students and professionals in the field of recreation..." We organize multiple on/off campus events like Kickball games, Tailgates, and Job Fairs. As a group, we take as many community service opportunities as we are able to. We also attend various conferences and workshops related to RTM and HTM in order to network and grow as individuals in our career field.
