The Little Rock River Market District is the downtown area of Little Rock, Arkansas along the Arkansas River. It consists of the area east of Cumberland Street to the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park east of Interstate 30 and south of the Arkansas River to the Arkansas Arts Center.HistoryIn 1980s and 1990s, the area known now as the Little Rock River Market struggled. Like many cities around the country, Little Rock saw businesses and residents depart its central business district as its suburbs expanded. Soon, after new realtors and a renewed interest in downtown emerged, Moses Tucker realty helped redesign the River Market district to get more people back into downtown. Originally called the "Diamond District", the name was changed soon thereafter. Now flag shipped by the Arkansas Museum of Discovery and the Clinton Presidential Library, the bustling district is home to many shops, galleries and bars/restaurants.
