Cooking is human. Cooking and food science began our evolutionary ascendancy. We examine the world in order to eat it. Entertainment is the human story. Storytelling began our exploration of the mysteries. We wonder in order to understand, and we fall down for a laugh. These are our additions to the world, and yet, men and women have languished in hunger for millenia. Due to a lack of dramatic foods and a dearth of delectable entertainment souls today rumble with pangs and shrivel. In Café Nordo's pursuit of unadulterated digestions, theatrical cuisine combats the theology of blandness that permeates our culture, and hopefully busts a gut or two. Carnal Food is the cleansing of one's perception of diet, a hedonist's approach to gastronomic revelation, a melodramatic confrontation with what lies on the plate. This is food the way a man and woman were meant to eat it. This is a conversation with your food and the food talks back.

Heartwood Provisions is a upscale New American restaurant and bar, located at the edge of Seattle’s historic district and bustling waterfront. We are centrally positioned and in close proximity to many downtown hotels, ferries, businesses and attractions. Our restaurant features a seasonal and continually evolving menu designed primarily to work in pairs. Original beverages have been created to enhance the food, which in turn serves to embellish the drinks. An 88-seat main dining room offers views of the kitchen throughout. Diners at an 11-seat kitchen counter will be especially close to the action. From here they can watch and engage with Chef Keokitvon and his team working the Spanish-designed, locally made Josper wood burning oven. The custom designed bar offers seating for 54 with accents of reclaimed woods, copper, and stone communal tables. The bar itself is intended as a destination for cocktail aficionados and food enthusiasts interested in studying Beverage Director Amanda Reed's techniques. Framed by a moving bookcase lined with hand-picked spirits, Reed and team create an evolving selection of cocktails made with seasonal ingredients and house-made syrups, infusions and tinctures. The wine list features food-friendly selections from the Pacific Northwest and around the world. The craft focused beer selection pours from four tap handles and an assortment of bottles. Our menu features shareable, traditional, and a la carte options that change weekly in flux with the seasons. Entrees range between $10 and $40; beverage pairings range between $4 and $6; and standalone cocktails are offered from $10 to $14.
