The addresses are 9 Pell Street (between Bowery and Mott Street) in Chinatown in Manhattan; 24 West 56th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues) in Manhattan, and 136-21 37th Avenue (between Main and Union Streets) in Flushing, Queens, which has developed a cult following.''Xialongbao''It is known for its xiaolongbao (billed as "steamed buns"). Joe's Shanghai has been cited by several magazines such as Time Out New York and has won 1998 Eating and Drinking Awards. Its main location is in Flushing. The most drawing aspect of Joe's Shanghai is acclaim for their cuisine, in particular, the pork or crab meat xiaolongbao, a type of small Chinese steam bun. Hindu Temple Society of North America, representing Sri Maha Vallabha Ganapati Devasthanam,, at 45–57 Bowne Street, Flushing, Queens, in New York City, was the very first of the traditional Hindu temples in the USA. The designation of North America in the name was chosen because at its inception, there were no other Hindu temples in North America from which it needed to distinguish itself. It is popularly referred to as the Ganesh Temple, Flushing since the main deity is Lord Ganesh. While there are now several Hindu temples in New York City area, this temple continues to be among the most prominent of them. The temple architecture and the rituals follow the South Indian tradition. The temple is visited not only by the Hindus but also those who wish to explore religious diversity in Queens. The very first Jain temple in the U.S., the Jain Center of America, is also located in Queens, in nearby Elmhurst. The temple has a vegetarian restaurant termed the Temple Canteen in the basement which is popular for its simple South Indian cuisine and for the temple experience. The canteen feeds 4,000 people a week, with as many as 10,000 during the Deepavali holiday.

Please feel free to share ideas to help create a fun, nurturing environment for our children. In order to sustain and enhance our children’s learning environment, we need the support of parents throughout the year. Parents are needed to volunteer some time, talent, expertise and supplies. As we all know, volunteering and fundraising is necessary to promote, sponsor and maintain our school. Please take part in however you are most comfortable, anything can help – just an extra hand to open a door or an extra set of eyes to watch for danger. Many hands make light work. We will try to keep you updated on school events.

This year, synchronized skating lost a very special and influential coach, Sylvia Muccio. Sylvia was one of a kind with her energy, passion, love, and dedication to the sport of synchronized skating and to all of the skaters that came into her life. Not only was she an amazing coach and contagious personality, but Sylvia taught all of her skaters such invaluable life lessons. Her spirit infiltrated everyone she met and made them better people. We want to recreate this amazingly positive atmosphere at World Ice Synchro. The World Ice Synchronized Skating Team will skate as members of the Knickerbocker Figure Skating Club as members of "Team Image." We are looking for up to 20 skaters to fill our roster for a competitive Adult team. In accordance to the USFSA rulebook: All skaters must be 21 years or older, with the exception that up to four skaters may be 18, 19 or 20. All skaters must have passed at least one of the following tests: preliminary moves in the field, adult bronze moves in the field, preliminary figure or preliminary dance. All teams may have a maximum of four alternates listed on their roster. We are ecstatic about this season and would love for you to be part of it! If you are interested, please email Nicole Brancucci at [email protected] for more information.
