Iron City Birmingham is a 22,000 sq foot full service grill, bar, and entertainment venue in the heart of downtown Birmingham. Our beautiful event center has a 1300 person standing capacity and is perfect for any event, large or small, including weddings, luncheons, and receptions. In addition to our main stage, we have two smaller stages that are perfect for intimate gatherings and local acts. The Grill at Iron City uses quality organic ingredients, produce from local farmers, Alabama Gulf Seafood and strives to produce a white tablecloth experience in a casual atmosphere. The Alabama Theatre for the Performing Arts hosts many live events, as well as films. Each year the Theatre hosts over 300 events attended by a half million Birmingham area citizens.
Boutwell Memorial Auditorium is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena located in Birmingham, Alabama. It was built in 1924 as Birmingham's Municipal Auditorium, on a site near City Hall, facing Capitol Park. The building was designed by Thomas W. Lamb, working with a committee of local architects. A later renovation added to the lobby and meeting room space in front of the brick facade, giving the street view of the auditorium a decidedly modernist marble, aluminum and glass look. The auditorium was renamed for Mayor Albert Boutwell. The auditorium remains the property of the city. It was home to the Birmingham Power basketball team. Master plans for the future of the Birmingham Museum of Art, which adjoins Boutwell Auditorium, have included expanding onto its current site. The interior of the facility includes seating in a horseshoe shape with a stage at the end opposite a balcony. The venue is multi-purpose and can be configured to suit athletic events, theatre and other events.
The MusiQ Mall is a new music venue in Birmingham that can accommodate all acts no matter what genre or size. We can play host to a jazz quartet and heavy metal in the same weekend. We boast two bars, a balcony, premier club lighting and the most dedicated support staff in the Birmingham scene. Whether your, local, regional or national we strive to make the artist's and patron's experience enjoyable and memorable.
BOOKING TIPS: Don't expect to make a lot of money. The crew work 10 hours a day / 7 days a week for free. We take a small percentage out of the door to help put a dent in our massive rent/power bill. We all come from bands in the DIY/Punk scene, and will always treat you the way we'd expect to be treated. This doesn't mean that we'll go out of our way to make sure every detail is perfect. It's Rock N Roll and mistakes do happen, especially when lack of sleep is involved. ATTENTION LOCAL BANDS: It would be nice if you'd write me back about being supporting acts for the great but not so famous touring bands coming through instead of only writing me when there's a popular group announced. Let's keep this interesting not only for ourselves but for everyone involved.
