The Rainier Club is a private club in Seattle, Washington; it has been referred to as "Seattle's preeminent private club." Its clubhouse building, completed in 1904, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was founded in 1888 in what was then the Washington Territory (statehood came the following year). As of 2008, the club has 1,300 members.HistoryThe Rainier Club was first proposed at a February 23, 1888 meeting of six Seattle civic leaders; it was formally incorporated July 25, 1888. The attendees of the original meeting were J. R. McDonald, president of the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway; John Leary, real estate developer and former Seattle mayor; Norman Kelly; R. C. Washburn, editor of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer; Bailey Gatzert, former mayor associated with Schwabacher's, Seattle's and the state's most prominent Jewish-owned business of the era; A. B. Stewart; and James McNaught. Other founding members were lawyer Eugene Carr, Judge Thomas Burke, and William Allison Peters. The club is named after British Admiral Peter Rainier. The name may have been chosen because of Seattle's rivalry with nearby Tacoma. Tacomans at the time were ardent in their support for the native name "Mount Tacoma" for the mountain now officially known as Mount Rainier. In 1892, the club actually sent a delegation to Washington, D.C. to argue the "Rainier" side of the case. The club's logo was modeled on that of the Union Club in Victoria, British Columbia, founded 1877.

Litigation Attorney: As a civil litigation attorney, I represent individuals and businesses across a broad spectrum of disputes, and in state and federal courts in the state of Washington, as well as in industry arbitrations and administrative hearings. I take matters from the pre-filing demand and negotiation stage, through pre-trial practice and trial, and at the appellate level. Aviation Lawyer: In my aviation law practice, I guide aircraft owners, operators, parts-manufacturers, and certificated air carriers in regulatory compliance efforts and in aircraft transactions. I also represent pilots, mechanics, and certificated entities in FAA and NTSB enforcement proceedings. Client Focused: My representation of a client begins with a thorough understanding of the client's desired end-state. That is the guiding principle, whether it be resolving a dispute through litigation or figuring out how to structure a deal. We then develop a course of action that accounts for risks and uncertainties, and applies the right amount of effort to get the job done. Cost-effective: I believe it is increasingly difficult to obtain quality representation that is affordable. I am committed to achieving the client's goals in a thorough, cost-effective manner. I bring a streamlined approach to each representation, and engage a broader team of technical experts and consultants as need be. Please contact me if I might be of service. I would be glad to speak with you, and look forward to discussing how we might work together to accomplish your goals.

Our retail shop is home to the full line of Constellation & Co. cards, prints, and stationery gifts. We also carry a curated selection of locally-made and hand-made stationery and gifts, including: jewelry, framed prints, perfume & cologne, notebooks, mugs, calendars, stickers, keychains, ribbon, accessories, vintage books/ephemera, and more! Nearly everything in our shop is made in the USA by a small business or artist. For a full list of the lines we carry, visit our website. Every day we open the studio, tie our aprons, and get to work. The studio is a special space—it is the fruition of a lot of dreams and hopes and hard work. It’s a place that feels like home. It’s a place infused with heritage. Our storefront studio and retail space is in the Seattle Fisherman’s Terminal, a historic spot that recently celebrated its 100th birthday. We love the wall of windows in our space, inviting people and sunlight in. We love smelling fresh ocean air. But what we love most are the possibilities that this place holds. This is where we do what we love—and every day here is a blessing. We love using the historic craft of letterpress to build relationships and bring people together. Constellation & Co. is owned by husband and wife team Brad and Sara McNally. Sara writes, designs, prints and does the wood engravings for our line of greeting cards. She is assisted by Brooke (a fellow letterpress printer), and an incredible staff of part-time helpers. Next time you come in, say hello to: Chelsa, Meredith, Sam, Chuck, Dorothy, Suzi, or Beth! Our feathered shop friend is named Atticus. He is a beautiful Zebra Finch. Zebra Finches originally hail from Indonesia, but he was adopted from a local pet store. Feel free to have a chat with him, he loves the attention! WE LIKE TO THINK OF OUR CARDS AS NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER WHEN CARDS. These sentiments transcend occasions. You are home to me. You’re my favorite. I like you. These are anytime cards. They won’t go out of season or out of style. And they are anywhere cards, not meant to be tucked away in a drawer or tossed aside. They are pieces of art imbued with intimacy and emotion, meant for keeping and displaying. They look good framed, hung in your home. And with your sincere handwritten message? People will keep them forever. Remember the box of cards, photos, and letters you found at your grandma’s house? I want my grandkids to find that box at my house. That heirloom ephemera won’t happen by itself, we have to build a collection. (And somehow I doubt that our grandkids will care about our online paper trail.) A card is sweet in its sentiment and simplicity. It’s a gift, and giving is good—good for relationship. Good for the giver and for the receiver. Giving is essential to life, not for its extravagance, but for showing our loved ones we know, we care, we watch, and we listen. We strongly believe that the best part of owning a business is the opportunities it creates to work with other creative people! We love to collaborate with other small businesses to create products, experiences and relationships. Our collaborations with Seattle Seed Co. and Treehouse Point have produced beautiful products that neither business could create alone. If you’re interested in collaborating, let us know. We’d love to hear from you.
