Bikram’s Beginning Hatha Yoga Class is a comprehensive 90-minute class consisting of a series of 26 Asanas (postures) and 2 breathing exercises, developed by Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury in the 1960’s, brought to the USA by Bikram in 1973, and taught and practiced around the world, more and more, ever since. Each posture is done twice with a Savasana (rest pose) between each, holding to the 3 primary principles of Hatha Yoga as explained in the introduction to Bikram’s book.

BACKGROUND Andrew Spurlock established the firm in 1988, to provide an innovative, site-conditioned approach, to both planning and landscape architectural design. He was joined that year by Martin Poirier, who had been a frequent collaborator and colleague since 1981; Marty became a partner in 1990. As the firm has grown in size, the result has been a lively collective collaboration on a broad range of projects that have earned national, state and local awards from the American Society of Landscape Architects, the American Institute of Architects and the American Planning Association. In late 2015, Marty Poirier made his departure from the firm and San Diego – embarking on other opportunities for himself and his family. In 2016 Leigh Kyle, Yu Ju Liu, and Brad Lents joined Andy as owners. They have been with the firm for the past decade and have been instrumental in its management, growth, and success. Together with Andy, Spurlock Landscape Architects continues their practice of creating transformative landscapes that connect people, communities and environments.
