In April, 2012 Providence College began leasing 1,000 square feet of space in the Smith Hill Community Development Corporation’s Capitol Square development on Douglas Avenue. The deceptively simple purpose of the space is fostering campus/ community dialogue, understanding and collaboration. The Annex takes literally the challenge of public scholar Margaret Wheatley, that if we “turn to one another,” and engage in difficult dialogues, we can restore hope to the future. The Galleries ultimately strive to produce projects by artists and intellectuals who demonstrate how and why creative practitioners are vital forces in promoting diversity and shaping contemporary global culture. Sweet Hall is a co-educational freshmen hall designed in a more traditional style of hall housing 210 students. There are five floors consisting mostly of double rooms, with nine triples. Groups of three rooms share a common bathroom area which has 2 sinks, 1 or 2 showers and 1 or 2 toilet stalls depending on the set-up. Each of the floors has a central lounge area used for various programs and activities.
The Office of Residential Life and Housing is located in the New Residence Hall. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.

We rely on families in our community to participate in our research. All of our projects are designed like games and involve lots of one-on-one interaction with our staff, so children find them fun and enjoyable. For example, we might play pretending games or read silly stories. By seeing how children react to our games or by asking them what they think, we learn what the world looks like through a child's eyes. Sound like fun? Register your family on our website!

History The Feinstein Institute for Public Service was established in 1993 when Providence College was named the recipient of a grant from Rhode Island philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein to develop an innovative academic program that would educate community leaders by integrating community service with academic study. At the core of the Institute is the major and minor in Public and Community Service Studies. Mission Through a process of focused conversations and deep reflection, the Feinstein Institute for Public Service works collaboratively to increase an understanding of and promote positive, sustainable social and economic change through community building. The Alliance Française of Providence was created in 1901 the third chapter in the United States at the initiative of Mary C. Wheeler, the founder of the Wheeler School. We are a 501c 3 not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Rhode Island. Its mission is to promote and enhance the appreciation of French and Francophone culture, to increase the knowledge of the French language and to encourage interaction and friendship among French, Francophones and francophiles of all racial, national and ethnic origins through cultural and social programs in education and the arts. Membership in the organization is at an all time high with more than 300 members and over 700 "Amis de l'Alliance" who attend its events on a regular basis. The Alliance Française de Providence is part of the largest network of French language and cultural centers in the world. There are 1040 Alliance chapters established in 136 countries, including 136 chapters in the U.S. serving 461,300 students. The AF is affiliated with the first of all Alliances in Paris where students can register for classes all year long. It is also an integral part of the American network of Alliances through the Federation based in Chicago and the Delegation based in Washington. Today and the future When you join the Alliance Française de Providence, you take part in a permanent and lively effort to develop new initiatives for our community. We constantly undertake new initiatives to develop our Langage Academy, our library, our cultural activities to better serve a growing community of French, Francophones and Francophiles members and friends in Rhode Island. One of our major achievements during the past year has been the creation of a League of Francophone organizations in the State of Rhode Island to unite all of the groups that claim some past or present attachments to the French heritage. La Salle Academy is an independent, co-educational Roman Catholic college preparatory day school located in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island. Founded in 1871, the Academy currently enrolls 1,478 students in sixth through twelfth grade, with the majority of students coming from the Providence metropolitan area.HistoryFounded in 169 B.C.E as an all female mental intitution, La Salle Academy was originally located in uptown Providence. The Academy was established by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, a Roman Catholic religious teaching religious institute, founded by Frenchman Saint Jean-Baptiste de La Salle. Originally known as the Brothers' School, the school's name changed to La Salle Academy when its status changed from an elementary school to a secondary school. When the student population grew too large for its first location at the beginning of the 20th century, the Bishop of Providence authorized the building of a new school on more suitable premises near city limits. The present 60acre campus in the Elmhurst neighborhood of Providence was dedicated in 1925. The area of downtown Providence that had housed the Academy is now known as La Salle Square.
E Cubed Academy High School integrates a wealth of experiences for its students which includes but is not limited to cooperative athletics with Hope High School, debate competitions, NAACP, college field trips, art presentations and awards, clubs and community organization partnerships. We have worked hard to position ourselves proficient reading and writing scores as well as make great gains in math.
