We are an international community-to-community partnership working on local initiatives in health care and education in and around Cap Haitien, Haiti, and in the Greenbrier Valley in West Virginia. The Greenbrier chapter focuses on Community Wellness and strives to empower young people to make changes that will improve their health and ultimately , the quality of their lives in this community. The current focus of the local initiative is a ronovation of the former "Bolling School" in Lewisburg, W.Va to become a functional youth recreation center for Greenbrier County. This center will increase access and opportunity for not only recreation and physical fitness for our youth, but also multiple opportunities for other community events.
Habitat for Humanity's vision is to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Seeking to put God’s love into action, we bring people together to build homes, communities and hope. Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
LIVE UNITED It's a credo. A mission. A goal. A constant reminder that when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We build the strength of our neighborhoods. We bolster the health of our communities. And we change the lives of those who walk by us every day.
