The idea behind The Free Man is to combine our great food, music, and atmosphere to make a new “destination” in the area. We know that our first priority is making the location work as a delicious cajun cafe that will bring people into Deep Ellum from all over Dallas. We want people to trust that when they come down to The Free Man, they are going to have a good time and have a unique lunch or dinner experience. We hope to make The Free Man into a cornerstone of the resurgence of Deep Ellum. The day starts with a well priced lunch, with food to die over. Parlor (noun): A room for the reception and entertainment of visitors to one's home. Long-time Dallas bartenders Seth Byars and Chris Young announce The Parlor on Commerce, a classic bar and eatery located on Commerce Street in Deep Ellum. Both Byars and Young have worked at some of Dallas’ most venerable watering holes during their tenure, several years of which were spent together at The Quarter Bar (Uptown). Byars has bartending and management experience at The Quarter Bar, as well as previous experience at Galaxy Club and Deep Ellum Live. Young’s experience includes Blind Butcher, Vickery Park (where he was both behind the bar and the GM), The Quarter Bar, and Deep Ellum Live. Byars and Young look forward to welcoming old and new patrons alike to their new home The Parlor on Commerce in late 2015, where they will be offering local and craft beers, a full bar, upscale bar food and a late night menu to cater to the vibrant, eclectic, and ever-changing Deep Ellum neighborhood.

Located in the heart of Deep Ellum, Dallas’ legendary entertainment district, The Nines is a unique lounge space with a dance component. We offer multiple environments, great drink offerings, and world class DJs. Red Light is a 3000 sq ft. lounge w a 3000 sq. ft. rooftop terrace. The main level has 2 bars, a lounge area with couches and booth seating, DJ booth and a dance floor. The environment on the rooftop patio provides a nice contrast from the main floor and features a stunning view of the Dallas skyline, separate bars, patio seating. Our state of the art sound system create a sense of balance, facilitating conversational volume levels or higher volume for our "rooftop dj session" events.
