Our south and west walls are windows offering a unique vista and the finest view of the city in the city. Noble Rot is perched atop an award winning, environmentally forward, Leed-Platinum building (the greenest!). The best way to drink the Rot is through the wine flights that are offered each day. Additionally, we have a 300+ bottle list, over 40 wines by the glass and a full bar. Noble Rot’s highly regarded, locally-sourced, seasonal menu evolves daily, but menu standards include an endive, beet, blue cheese & hazelnut salad, an onion tart, celebrated macaroni & cheese and a wicked crème brulee. The Rot has a 3000 square foot roof top garden which supplies most of the vegetables and herbs during the long, warm summer months. The garden and the restaurant have their own aquifer, which not only provides an 8000-year-old cheap water source, but it is also pure & tasty.

For the Jung brothers, Michael & Eugene, childhood fun meant playing ping pong. Whether it was with our parents, with their friends, or just with each other, ping pong was a guaranteed good time, every time. After realizing that growing up wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, we decided to find our fun again in 2012 by throwing pop-up ping pong parties around town. A year & a half later, with the lessons learned from dozens of events & the courage inspired by hundreds of fans, we went all-in to build the permanent ping pong paradise that Portland deserves.

The Jolly Roger was originally located on Powell Blvd until the owner lost his lease, and moved the sign over to its new location on 12 & Madison in the early 90’s. The Cheerful group purchased The Jolly Roger in the Summer of 2002. The partners remodeled the interior, and began the process of turning it into the neighborhood landmark that it is today. In 2004 Rob & Starr Jackson bought out their partners to become the sole owners. There have been numerous remodels since then, including the addition of a patio area. The Jacksons also own The Sports Page at 8590 SW Hall Blvd in Beaverton and their newest addition, The Jolly Roger at John’s Landing 5627 SW Kelly St in Portland, which opened in 2009. You can still find them tending bar at one of their locations across Portland.
