Hepner Hall, designed by the senior architectural designer of the California Division of the State Architect, Howard Spencer Hazen, and completed in 1931, is the iconic academic building in the center of San Diego State University (SDSU)'s campus, just north of Malcolm A. Love Library at the entrance to the Campanile Walkway and main quad.Hepner Hall is home to SDSU's School of Social Work, along with the Department of Gerontology and the University Center on Aging. Several faculty offices and research centers also are housed in Hepner Hall, along with an assortment of classrooms and lecture halls.Symbol of the SDSU campusHepner Hall is the symbol of the campus, with its Mission Revival Style architecture, open-faced bell tower and archway. It is the most photographed building on campus. The tower bells are rung only once a year, during the yearly commencement ceremonies.SDSU logo and sealHepner Hall is the centerpiece of SDSU's revised logo and presidential seal, which were unveiled in 2004.ArchitectureEntrance to the building is gained through the building's impressive portales, which are framed by turquoise and white tile. Two massive turrets frame the Catalonian-style archway, which is topped by a Mission-style bell tower (campanario). Inside the archway is a ribbed Moorish-style arch vaulted ceiling with a simulated Moorish wrought iron lantern hanging from its center.
The Aztec Student Union is a student union in the center of San Diego State University's campus, just east of Malcolm A. Love Library. The Aztec Student Union was known as the Aztec Center from 1968-2011, when it was demolished for the Aztec Student Union. The Aztec Student Union leads into the heart of the SDSU campus and is located near many classrooms and administrative services.Aztec CenterThe Aztec Center offered a variety of services, places, and spaces geared to the needs of students including restaurants, movie theater, meeting rooms, and various student organizations. It was also home to the Associated Students' Government & Business Office, Council Chambers, the Government Affairs Office and Meeting Services. Many student organizations also housed their offices in the Aztec Center.HistoryThe Aztec Center, planned in the late 1950s and built in the early 1960s, was the first permanent student union in the California State University system.
The Graduate School of Public Health is one of the professional graduate schools of San Diego State University within its College of Health and Human Services. Located in the College Area neighborhood of San Diego, California, it is part of the Association of Schools of Public Health and is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. San Diego State University is a member of the Western Association of Graduate Schools, the Council of Graduate Schools in the United States, and the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. The GSPH also maintains its own chapter in the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.The school's mission is "to improve population health and well-being by building a diverse public health workforce to meet the needs of current and future communities."HistoryThe GSPH began through the efforts of James W. Cobble, Dean of the Graduate Division at SDSU; the late Dr. John J. Hanlon, former Assistant Surgeon General of the U.S. Public Health Service and a father of modern public health; and Thomas B. Day, former President of SDSU. Associated with Dr. Hanlon's early work on the GSPH is the formation of an umbrella organization, the College of Health and Human Services, which would provide collaboration between the GSPH, the Schools of Social Work and Nursing, and the Departments of Health Science and Communicative Disorders.
The purpose of the Interfraternity Council shall be to promote the best interests of the University, to assist and strengthen fraternities individually and collectively in the achievement of their worthy purposes, to provide a medium for the exercising of self-government and the self-regulation of fraternity affairs, to offer opportunities for further development and expansion of fraternity life on campus, to act as liaison between fraternities and the University administration, to offer a common meeting ground for all fraternities, and to foster fellowship and goodwill among the fraternities and the student body as a whole.

Peterson Gym is a 3,668 seat multi-purpose arena in San Diego, California. It opened in 1961. It was home to the San Diego State University Aztecs basketball teams until Cox Arena (now known as the Viejas Arena) opened in 1997. Peterson Gym is currently the home of SDSU's varsity women's volleyball team.In 1972-73, Peterson Gym was home of the American Basketball Association expansion San Diego Conquistadors. The Conquistadors were coached by Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and Boston Celtics great K.C. Jones. The team finished with a 30-54 record.Inside the arena, there are classrooms for lectures.
