Dining at Middlebury is much more than three meals a day. We are a year-long operation that strives to be an active and engaged part of the Middlebury College experience and community. Middlebury College Dining Services include 3 dining halls, retail operations such as the Grille, Wilson Cafe, 51 Main and the Snow Bowl snack bar, as well as catering for campus-wide events and private functions. Our dedicated staff work to serve and meet the needs of students during the academic year as well as support Middlebury's Summer Language School and Breadloaf Writer's Conference.

Coeducational and founded in 1800, it awards the Bachelor of Arts degree through 45 departments. The 2,450 undergraduates come from over 70 countries to study under a distinguished faculty in a ratio of 9:1. Because nearly two thirds of Middlebury students study abroad during their college years and because international and foreign language studies are among Middlebury’s special strengths, the campus atmosphere is remarkably global. In addition, the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California, is now a graduate school of Middlebury College, offering dual degrees in a number of areas. Other recognized strengths include the sciences, pre-professional programs, writing, literature and the oldest environmental studies program in the United States. Admission is highly competitive, and financial aid is awarded to students based entirely on their demonstrated need.
The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs was founded by Felix Rohatyn '49, an investment banker, former U.S. Ambassador to France, and founder of Rohatyn Associates. Located at the Robert A. Jones '59 House, the center combines Middlebury's strengths in political, linguistic, and cultural studies to offer internationally focused symposia, lectures, and presentations. An internationally oriented resource and research center, the Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs (RCGA) supports the College's goal of advancing global understanding that radiates from a core linguistic and cultural competency. The center also offers grants for faculty and student research.
Middlebury College's MiddCORE is a four-week program for current college students and recent graduates who want to develop the SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, and CONFIDENCE to be successful in life and work. Through an intensive daily schedule of small-group classes and mentor-led workshops, students develop skills in teamwork, innovation, trial-and-error exploration, networking, and practical problem solving. The program is highly collaborative and hands-on, and students work closely with each other and more than 40 mentors from top leading fields and professions. MENTORS are what make MiddCORE different. Every day students have access to leaders and heads of today’s successful businesses such as: Netflix CoFounder, Marc Randolph YouTube/Google Managing Director, Suzie Reider Former Washington State Governor, Christine Gregoire JPMorgan Chase Managing Director, Mary Pang IDEO Creative Director, Tom Raith During MiddCORE students participate in several STRATEGIC PARTNER CHALLENGES, working with peers to solve actual business problems posed by mentors. They also work on their own INNOVATION CHALLENGE to develop a new product or service or a new way to address a social problem. Students who complete the course earn one course credit from Middlebury College equivalent to 3 credit hours.
The Anderson Freeman Resource Center (AFC), located in Carr Hall, works to promote an inclusive learning environment for the Middlebury community. This work includes support for the needs of students of color; first generation college students; students from low-income backgrounds; LGBTQ+ students; international students; and other students that have been historically underrepresented or marginalized in U.S. higher education.
Our advisers and resources focus on areas of career exploration; health professions; fellowships; and internships, both traditional and self-designed. We help you find opportunities—locally and around the world—to craft an international immersion experience, begin your career exploration, find internships, prepare for graduate study, identify fellowships, and locate funding for projects. As you head toward senior year, we also provide on-campus and off-campus recruiting programs and advice on graduate school application processes.
The Middlebury College Trap and Skeet Club is an organization that emphasizes gun safety and promotes the sport of trap and skeet shooting. It is an organization comprised of Middlebury College students who are dedicated to practicing the sport in a safe and controlled environment. This club strives to provide a source of firearm education and an atmosphere of competitive sport shooting.
The Middlebury Debate Team is a member of the American Parliamentary Debate Association and is ranked 10th team in the nation. Members of the team compete in tournaments across the country. Meetings: Tue/Thur in McCardell Bicentennial Hall 148. All are welcomed!
Conductor Andrew Massey leads and arranges music for the Middlebury College Orchestra. The orchestra is open to all members of the Middlebury Community and interested players in the wider central Vermont area. Bi-weekly rehearsals lead up to semesterly concerts at the Middlebury College Concert Hall. Andrew Massey held former positions as principal conductor of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the New Orleans Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra, the Fresno Philharmonic, and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra.
