The new shining beacon for Independent Filmmakers in WNC. Cinema In Asheville's mission is to bring together local filmmakers from the working professional to the high school student to create a network of artists that will help each other craft new films. Under the CIAs roof all are equal. Patrick Kennedy President of the CIA believes it is time to support one another and our community as well as inspire and educate aspiring filmmakers to go out and achieve their dreams. The CIA plans to cultivate and create professional opportunities for our local filmmakers by holding small film festivals year round that showcase their films for all to see in order to raise money for new projects and special events for their benefit.

Still owned by one of Vanderbilt's descendants, it stands today as one of the most prominent remaining examples of the Gilded Age. In 2007, it was ranked eighth in America's Favorite Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
