Visitors can take a larger-than-life tour of the human body inside the Amazing Body Pavilion, get a closer look at their physical and mental selves in You: The Exhibit and take in a 4D movie in the McGovern Theater at this interactive science center located in the heart of Houston's Museum District.
Sport Management is an undergraduate major at Rice University and is much like a business administration degree. After covering the basic business concepts, we relate those concepts and explain their relevancy in the sport industry. These topics include finance, marketing, leadership, management, law, revenue generation, ethics, and public relations. How large is the sport industry in the United States? Experts conservatively estimate the sport industry at $500 billion a year making it one of the top 10 industries in the nation. The internship is a critical part of learning experience for sport management majors. Rice has partnerships with the Houston Astros, Texans, Rockets, and Dynamo which allows for extraordinary access to internships with these organizations. A minimum of six credit hours of internship (300 working hours) are required for graduation.

The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science, or The Health Museum in short, is a museum in the Museum District of Houston, Texas. The museum is a member institution of the Texas Medical Center. As of 2012 the museum gets over 180,000 annual visitors, including 22,000 schoolchildren who visit the facility during organized field trips.HistoryThe Museum of Medical Science opened in the Houston Museum of Natural Science opened on November 16, 1969, and it remained there for 21 years. The current museum facility opened on March 16, 1996 as The Museum of Health & Medical Science. The building housing the museum, the John P. McGovern Building, was funded with a $9.5 million capital campaign. Since the opening, the museum has processed over two million visitors. In late 2001 the museum's board of trustees unanimously voted to rename the museum after John P. McGovern. The museum revamped its brand in 2006, as part of the 10th anniversary in the standalone facility. The new branding included a shortened name ("The Health Museum") and a new logo. As of 2006 the museum received 175,000 annual visitors.A 2011 renovation included the addition of 3,300 SF of exhibition space to the southwest side of the museum with a metal-panel facade and 1,500 SF of additional interior renovations.Permanent exhibit space for the DeBakey Cell Lab opened in 2015. The DeBakey Cell Lab is a unique science-focused experience and the only bilingual science lab museum exhibit in the country. Honorably named after the respected and accomplished medical pioneer, Michael E. DeBakey, M.D., this 2,000 sq. ft. exhibit features seven authentic biology-based science experiments developed for visitors ages 7 to adult.

We love cycling so much we are working towards constructing a museum dedicated to cycling history here in the heart of Houston’s museum district at Crawford and Calumet. Imagine a Houston where cyclists are taken seriously and cycling is seen as more than a mere recreational activity. We are learning new things everyday about cycling’s fascinating and often romantic, passionate story and are looking forward to sharing the impact of the knowledge we’ve gained. It’s the best way we know how to do our part to continue to support and grow our city’s cycling community. Let’s have a central hub dedicated to cycling. Houston is finally ready. We’ve got lots of ideas planned for the space. You can go to the museum to browse collections, learn skills at one of our workshops, hear from and meet master artisans, frame builders, advocacy soldiers, pro riders and people with stories you’ll never be able to read about in a book or on the web during a lecture series. It can be a place for you to have a safe, central meet up for your group ride, meet new groups to ride with, enjoy events or let us help you plan a cycling event or competition on our grounds. The museum will be for you. It will evolve as the community evolves and that can only mean bigger and better things for cyclists of all kinds. Please tell people that you want us to hurry up and get this thing built so you can hang out there! Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) is a nonprofit arts organization founded to advance education about the process, product and history of craft. Visitors enjoy viewing innovative exhibitions, talking with artists-in-residence, creating their own craft objects in workshops, and shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts and home décor in the Asher Gallery. Admission is free. Docent-led tours are available for groups, if scheduled in advance.

Housed in the first United States building designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano, the Menil’s main museum building anchors the 30-acre campus. The Menil presents regular rotations of artworks from the growing permanent collection, organizes special exhibitions and programs, publishes scholarly books, and conducts research into the conservation of modern and contemporary art. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11am to 7pm, and charges no admission fee.
