Specialties Best Friends Veterinary Hospital is a full service veterinary facility. This means we provide everything from simple vaccines to complex laser surgeries. We treat dogs, cats, and most small mammals. History Established in 2014. Drs. Bob and Lori McCool met in veterinary school and married in 1988. After graduating from veterinary school in 1989, they opened their first vet clinic in Missouri. Ten years later in 1999, they opened their second veterinary hospital (Gentle Doctor Animal Hospital in O'Fallon, Missouri) and a third hospital in 2005 (Tender Care Animal Hospital in Weldon Spring, Missouri), both located in Missouri. Both hospitals have won numerous awards including top veterinary hospitals in the county for 5 consecutive years out of 46 local veterinary clinics (voted on by the citizens of St. Charles County) and multiple Angie's List Superservice Awards. Then, in 2014, they decided to branch out and opened Best Friends Veterinary Hospital in Poway, California in 2014. They brought with them the same systems and philosophy that have made their other hospitals so successful.
