The National Guard Bureau, through its private military contracts, fulfills its commitment with its soldiers and military family members during the entire deployment cycle, to include the pre- and post-deployment phases. Family Assistance Centers (FACs) are referral and resourcing organizations who are authorized to support all servicemembers, military family members, veterans, and retirees regardless of military branch or deployment status within their service area. What FACs do… • They are a Federal, State and Local Family/Soldier Resource Center • They provide ongoing support for Military Families and conduct outreach • They work in conjunction with military units and their commanders in providing necessary support with the Chain of Concern

Kearny High School is a public high school in San Diego, California. Kearny High School serves students in grades 9-12 from the Linda Vista, Serra Mesa and Kearny Mesa communities. The school is part of the San Diego Unified School District. Kearny's mascot is the Komet.HistoryThe actual name of the school is Stephen Watts Kearny High School, named after General Stephen Watts Kearny. A former military base on the land, Camp Kearny was near where the current campus is located. The camp was named in honor of General Stephen W. Kearny, a leader in the Mexican-American War.Kearny High opened its doors in 1941 in Linda Vista. The original school was a building in the neighborhood before moving into what is now Montgomery Middle School located at 2470 Ulric Street San Diego, CA 92111. The Class of 1943, was the first graduating class. In September 1945, Army ROTC was introduced on-campus. In 1953 the high school moved to its present location on Wellington.
