The purpose of the ECLC is to provide opportunities which meet the educational need of the early childhood years in a Christian environment for children in the community. Realizing that in the first 6 years of life a child forms his or her basic patterns for coping with life, the church provides an educational program which considers the developmental needs of the child and emphasizes growth in all areas -- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

These programs include three annual seasons of the Community Enrichment Series, the Arts & Lecture Programs, as well as Great Topics and the Advanced Placement Institute. The Division of Pediatric Clinical Research facilitates the conduct of industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated research, assists with protocol and grant development and submissions, ensures research is conducted according to ICH/GCP guidelines by assembling qualified research certified personnel, provides 24-hour on-call coverage for patient recruitment and adverse events monitoring, and educates students, interns, residents, staff and faculty in research components. The Division oversees activities in all areas of research including regulatory, clinical and laboratory.

Banking machine, ground floor of Student Union Catering- UMC food service offers complete catering for breakfasts, luncheon, dinners, receptions, and banquets. Arrangements may be made through catering department 984-2072 Fitness Center- a facility dedicated to the promotion of healthy attitudes and lifestyles among future health care professionals. The fitness center offers a wide variety of fitness resources, including controlled weights machines, free weights, treadmills, bikes, steppers, aerobic studio, basketball/ volleyball court, and indoor track. The fitness center offers towel and locker service, showers, equipment checkout and supports the Medical Center recreational sport programs. STUDENT ID BADGE NEEDED FOR ACCESS Recreation Center- Located on the first floor of the Union. Features ping pong table, foosball table, video games, 2 pocket billiard tables, 2 large screen televisions, kitchenette, locker service, and most importantly a relaxed atmosphere. STUDENT ID BADGE NEEDED FOR ACCESS Locker Room- located in the Fitness Center on the first floor of the Union. Lockers, showers, and towel service provided. Locks provided in fitness center office and are to be used when using fitness facility. Study Area- located on the second floor in the ASB office Spouse Badges- Student spouses are able to access the fitness/recreation center. The spouse will need to fill out a spouse of student ID authorization form and have a UMC badge made. The cost of the spouse bade is $25.00 and will be active for the years the student is enrolled in school. The forms can be picked up at Union Administration office and the Fitness Center Office in the Student Union. Intramural Sports- flag football, basketball, soccer, and volleyball. The intramural field is maintained with softball back stop. Lighted tennis courts also available. Outdoor Track- ½ mile in a shaded, paved area. Located behind the SHRP building. Guest Policy- Student/Residents are allowed one guest while using the fitness/recreation facilities. All guests need to be signed in at the fitness center desk. Picnic Area- charcoal grills, picnic tables, and enjoyable atmosphere. Located east of the union. Wireless Network- Wireless network capabilities are available throughout the Student Union Building. Parking Info. Lot 8 behind the student union can be used for events held in the student union. An access code is needed to enter. There is a limited space of 25. Mississippi Military at Millsaps College is designed to inform current and future students about the opportunities available to students associated with the military.
