Teaching these intense and diverse courses requires excellent instructor and support staff; you will find them here. -Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC) are trained to function independent of a Medical Officer to include: -Advanced diving medicine -Advanced patient care -Medical administration -Environmental/Occupational health Logistical duties which allows them to function independent of a medical officer. It covers the mission of the Navy, medical assets of surface vessels, and overview of administration including inspections, supply, maintenance, records and correspondence. There is an introduction to the preventive and occupational health programs of a ship, medical regulating and patient evacuation. This course fills the training prerequisite for the Surface Warfare Medical Department Officer Qualification. The course is open to active duty medical, nurse and medical service corps officers within eight months of reporting to a ship, a Fleet Surgical Team, or a USMC unit that will deploy with an Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG). Reserve candidates must actively drill with fleet commands or have participated in fleet medical exercises. Medical Regulating (MEDREG) Duration: 2 1/2 days. Provides students with the knowledge and skills required to function as a Medical Regulating Team (MRT) and Patient Evacuation Team (PET) members. The course provides techniques of medical regulating, patient movement, operations, Health Service Support assets, planning, and communications unique to Navy and Marine Corps, as well as the joint operating arena. Upon completion of training, participants will receive a Certificate, Page 13, and the Medical Regulating/Patient Movement Reference Tool DVD. Priority seating available for personnel assigned to the operating forces, or one of the following mobilization platforms: Satisfies MAP requirements for Medical Regulating Fleet Marine Force (FMF) Roles of a Patient Evacuation Officer & Members of Patient Evacuation Team Casualty Receiving and Treatment Ships (CRTS) Hospital Ships (T-AH) Fleet Hospitals (FH) OCONUS MTFs SWMI also provides the Advanced Dental Assistant Program (ADAP) which provides advanced instruction that educates, trains, and prepares hospital corpsmen to serve in administrative, clinical, and/or auxiliary roles in support of dental officers within Navy Medicine. ADAP graduates serve in periodontics, prosthodontics, and operative dentistry departments, as well as, leadership positions in clinical management and healthcare administration. The program is staffed by two general dentistry specialists, a dental hygienist, a prosthodontics laboratory technician, and three experienced HM instructors. The 21-week program includes 840 hours of instruction. The 168 didactic hours, 312 lab/practical hours, and 360 clinical hours are divided into 5 teaching modules with 11 instructional units. Additionally, students earn 18 college credits. In addtition, there is the Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School (NDACS).The Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School is a 10 week program that is divided into seven weeks of didactic training and three weeks in clinical rotation. The school convenes a new class five times a year for military personnel who will be working various drug and alcohol related jobs such as: outreach, screening, assessment, and treatment of alcohol and other drug addiction. Following their training at NDACS, graduates become Intern Counselors for one year. After a minimum twelve month internship, interns may apply for certification as Alcohol and Drug Counselor I (ADC I).

The San Diego Regional Revolving Loan Fund (SDRRLF) and Small Business Micro Revolving Loan Fund (SBMRLF) offer financial assistance to expanding small to mid-size business owners requiring capital, but are unable to meet the terms of traditional banks. Through careful screening of loan applicants and creative loan structuring, the "gap financing" program can get business owners closer to their goal by supplementing private financing of working capital, fixed machinery and equipment, soft costs and new or rehabilitated buildings. The SDRRLF area includes businesses in the Cities of San Diego and Chula Vista while the SBMRLF only includes businesses in the City of San Diego.

Information Services The Information Services Staff acts as the initial contact for most callers and visitors to the City Clerk's Office, responding to thousands of requests each year. You may view some of the many on-line legislative documents in the City Clerk's Office. Other documents and items not on-line are available through the Clerk's Office, also including Agreements; Appeals; City Council Speaker Forms; Contracts; Deeds (City-related); Leases; Loyalty Oath Cards for Appointed Officials; Notice of Special Hearings; Ordinances & Resolutions; Subdivision Information/Maps; Summons/Subpoenas; CDs and Videotapes of City Council meetings; CDs of Council Committee Meetings; and Voter Registration applications. Copies of most documents are 25 cents per page. The cost of CDs and audio tapes will vary depending on the specific request. Legislative Services The Legislative Services Division is made up of three sections: Dockets, Hearings, and Council Actions. The Dockets section prepares, distributes, and uploads onto the City's webpage the Docket and supporting materials for all regular and supplemental agendized items for all City Council meetings, Special Council Meetings, and Emergency Council Meetings. The Hearings Section prepares all Land Use Hearings items that appear on the Docket. The Council Actions section creates and publishes online the Summary Sheet (produced prior to) and the Results and offical Minutes (produced after) for each meeting, and they also maintain and update the online Resolution and Ordinance database. In addition, this section is responsible for updating and maintaining the City Charter, Municipal Code and Council Policies. The entire Legislative Services Division acts as a resource for the public seeking information regarding actions taken by the City Council at the Council Meetings. Elections Elections staff coordinate and administer the City's municipal elections and elections-related activities. Activities include advising officeholders, candidates and committees of procedures and requirements; processing ballot proposals and initiative petitions; planning and conducting election centrals and inaugurations; administering campaign statements, statements of economic interests and municipal lobbying registration and reporting; providing maps, brochures and instruction manuals to Council, staff, and the public; and preparing technical and analytical reports. Records Management The Records Management Program promotes accessibility and ensures government accountability by assisting City departments to create and maintain updated versions of their Records Disposition Schedules; imaging and providing documents on-line to the public; preserving vital records which protect the rights of the City and its citizens by producing microfilm copies and sending them to an out-of-state facility; providing storage and daily retrieval of inactive records for all City departments; cataloguing and making available on-line photographs of official artifacts; and making available to the public on request archival documents dating from the 1830's.

These ships transport and launch amphibious craft and vehicles with their crews and embarked personnel in amphibious assault operations. The Whidbey Island class dock landing ship is a dock landing ship of the United States Navy. Introduced to fleet service in 1985, this class of ship features a massive well deck for the transport of four LCAC hovercraft for landing Marines. It was designed specifically to operate LCAC vessels. It has the largest capacity for these landing craft (four) of any U.S. Navy amphibious platform. It will also provide docking and repair services for LCACs and for conventional landing craft.
