It received preliminary accreditation from the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), preliminary accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, and full accreditation from the Connecticut State Board of Education in 2012. It welcomed its first class in 2013.Netter is one of about a dozen new medical schools established in anticipation of increased demand for medical professionals following the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the aging of the baby boomer generation. Quinnipiac University Orientation Program

275 Mt Carmel Ave

(203) 582-8233

Freshman Orientation will ease your transition to college and spark your excitement about Quinnipiac. You'll quickly get involved by participating in a number of activities like singing karaoke, exploring the campus and getting to know your professors. Students also have the opportunity to meet with academic deans who will explain Quinnipiac's academic requirements. Students meet with faculty advisers to discuss possible courses for the first semester and learn about the variety of campus resources through staff and upperclass students. When you arrive, you'll be put into a group of about 12 incoming students. Each group is led by two upperclassmen, and every year the Orientation leaders pick a theme and a logo for the sessions. For example, one year the theme was "How Sweet it Is," and the corresponding logo was jellybeans. Each group chooses an individual name that goes with the logo - a specific jellybean flavor in this instance. So each group has its own identity (e.g., the Wild Cherry group), and it's something you'll hold onto and remember long after you graduate. - See more at: http://www.quinnipiac.edu/qu-spotlights/freshman-orientation/#sthash.OyrugR2W.dpuf

Quinnipiac University Theater For Community
Distance: 0.0 mi Competitive Analysis
275 Mt Carmel Ave
Hamden, CT 06518-1908

(203) 582-3500

The guiding principle of the Theater for Community program is the conviction that theater can be a tool to foster student engagement with the local, national and global community. Students are introduced to diverse social issues and topics outside of their everyday experiences and, as a result, are forced to explore the topic from a different perspective. Using original or adapted scripts, students stage plays that address such compelling issues as revenge, war, prejudice and justice. The program equips students to become theater professionals, but with an emphasis on using their profession to make a real difference in the world. Quinnipiac students use their training to become not only actors, directors, playwrights, designers and stage managers, but also educators, counselors, health professionals, journalists and social workers—who know how to use drama as an effective tool.
