TKOC is a multi-disciplinary diagnostic, treatment, and research program that serves Cincinnati and surrounding counties in the tri-state area. TKOC is a member of the Autism Treatment Network (ATN) and recognized as one of the elite autism centers in the United States. Since its inception in 1999, TKOC has embraced the chronic care model, following children and adolescents with ASD after diagnosis for ongoing monitoring, treatment, and habilitative services including speech and occupational therapy. Trainings and educational opportunities are provided to family members and professionals by the TKOC Community Outreach Department to build capacity in the community and improve the quality of care provided to individuals with ASD and their families.
Central Clinic has been providing quality Behavioral Health and Forensic services for over 85 years in Cincinnati to children, adults and families. Our agency has seven locations in Greater Cincinnati, providing a wide range of services. Central Clinic is an United Way agency and serves persons with Medicaid, private insurance, or who are indigent. Central Clinic is an Outpatient Mental Health Agency in Hamilton and Butler Counties, and is the Forensic Center for Hamilton, Clermont, Lawrence, Scioto, Adams and Brown Counties, including Municipal Courts and the Courts of Common Pleas. The Clinic operates a system of managed care for the Hamilton County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board-funded services. In addition, Central Clinic is an outpatient training arm for the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

MEDICAL RESPITE CARE PROGRAM The Center for Respite Care is the only 24-hour facility in the region to offer medical recovery care for sick, homeless people. We also work with patients to resolve the issues keeping them homeless. Successes: • Medical Recovery: We are highly successful at retaining patients in the program until medical recovery is complete compared to a 2011 national multi-site study conducted by Westat, (87% CRC vs. 55% nationally) • Discharge Placement: 90% of patients are discharged to more stable housing or treatment after recovery is complete, compared to 30% nationally. The high success rate is particularly notable since two-thirds of Respite Care patients were considered by HUD to be chronically homeless. • Cost Effectiveness: One day at Respite Care is only 5% of the cost of a day in the hospital. Impact: • Estimated savings to community: $10 million annually PERMANENT HOUSING PROGRAM We also operate a unique HUD-funded housing program for homeless individuals who should qualify for disability income but have not yet been approved. By providing housing while assisting clients in navigating the filing process, we help them to obtain a secure income, become self-sufficient and remain stably housed. Successes: • Housing Stability: 90% of housing clients remained stably housed at exit from the Respite Housing Program. • Income & Benefits: 86% of clients leaving the program had cash income, and 93% exited with non-cash benefits (e.g. Food stamps, Medicaid). Impact • 60% reduction in publically funded services for housed clients • Estimated savings to the community: $1 million annually. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY • 91 cents of every dollar goes directly to patient care. • Donations are matched by The Christ Hospital. • Every $1 you nvest in the Center for Respite Care yields an average of $20 in economic returns to the local community.

Kindervelt is an organization composed of neighborhood or other common-interest groups joined together by a central, city-wide board of trustees. It is the largest auxiliary of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) and is recognized as one of Greater Cincinnati's outstanding volunteer organizations. Projects: Projects sponsored by Kindervelt groups include: dinners, garage sales, dances, fashion shows, and sporting events. The possibilities are endless. Hundreds of these events are carried out each year, giving Kindervelt members and their communities a great deal of enjoyment. Many groups offer various items for sale on an ongoing basis: cookbooks to mulch, Christmas trees to sweatshirts. Well over half of Kindervelt's annual donation to CCHMC comes from the cumulative efforts of these individual projects. The board of trustees coordinates projects that unite local groups for city-wide events. These combined events have raised millions of dollars and have helped CCHMC provide critically needed services to the children. The dollars we raise go far because Kindervelt pays no salaries and depends on volunteers to plan, organize, and execute all activities. Legal counsel and accounting services are provided by CCHMC. Over the years, Kindervelt activities have focused public interest and good will on the excellent facilities, staff, and services at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. While the main goal of Kindervelt is to raise funds for CCHMC; many projects undertaken by members serve to benefit the city as well. Kindervelt has earned a reputation for having enthusiastic, capable, and reliable volunteers. Their involvement in area events represents countless volunteer hours and leadership. Many Kindervelt members have been selected to chair major events in the Tri-State area. Kindervelt-sponsored gifts have supported both medical research and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment. Kindervelt funds purchased a tomographic unit for the radiology department , and life-support equipment for the cardiac care unit. A fluorescence microscope purchased for the hematology/oncology division assists cancer researchers. Several years of Kindervelt funds aided in the formation of the Division of Infectious Diseases, and the Kindervelt Cardiovascular Research Endowment Fund, which provides a permanent endowment for much-needed research. A three-year pledge was used to endow the Kindervelt Professorship of Pulmonary Medicine, ensuring the continuation of the medical center's position as a national leader in molecular genetic research relating to diseases of the lung in children, and now saves the lives of thousands of infants with respiratory distress syndrome. Kindervelt supported the Kindervelt Trauma Center which is located in the emergency department, and the Kindervelt Critical Care Program. This program offers state-of-the-art care, to children who need intensive monitoring and treatment. The Kindervelt Critical Care Program is the only one of its kind in the Tri-State region. In keeping with its mission, Kindervelt has just completed a five-year commitment to fund the Division of Adolescent Medicine. The Division offers resources and support for adolescents and the physicians who treat them, and has strived to provide the highest quality care for adolescents regionally and, through research and education, to improve adolescent health globally.

The Collaborative works with the University of Cincinnati, a major research university, utilizing the talent of the top-ranked colleges of DAAP, Business, Engineering, Nursing and Medicine among many others, to complete project studios. Interdisciplinary teams of UC faculty and students use a semester-long design thinking model to translate consumer research into products and services. The design thinking model consists of three phases: research, ideation, and refinement. During each phase of the project, the team involves the target user and implements their feedback, ensuring that the end design meets the target market's needs. Since its establishment in 2007, Live Well Collaborative has successfully completed over fifty projects in a wide variety of industries. Their mission is to develop breakthrough innovations for consumers across their lifespan. The Collaborative is an expert in the 50+ market and continues to expand its portfolio by partnering with healthcare institutions. The organization is comprised of neighborhood or other common interest groups and is united by a central Board of Trustees. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join. EQUAL is an Employee Resources Group (ERG) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital (CCHMC) for the LGBTQA community. We are committed to making Cincinnati Children's and the surrounding community a more supportive, welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all patients, families, and employees, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression. We aim to achieve this vision through education, support, and advocacy; we also aim to have fun after-hours social gatherings monthly. 12 Years ago God started us down a path that would change everything. It was what we perceived as a call to start our family through adoption. 10 years ago we adopted our first son. 9 years ago we adopted our second. 8 years ago we began working with Luz y Vida, an orphanage for special needs children in Bogota, Colombia. Throughout all this we have felt a strong sense that this was much bigger than our family. We knew we were responsible for telling our story, encouraging others, helping others adopt, and speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. An anchoring verse in Scripture has been Isaiah 1:17 where God says, “Learn to do right. Seek Justice. Encourage the oppressed. Take up the cause of the orphan." God cares for those who are vulnerable, especially the orphan. As our calling to the orphan has become clearer, we now understand that our next step in advocating for the orphan is to Fund Adoption Stories that Influence Others to Act on Behalf of the Orphan and Create a Ripple Effect of Care. Our dream is to help fund 1000 adoptions by 2050.
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is a HIV rapid testing site located in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center EIP seeks to reach those most at –risk for HIV infection and build awareness around this public health crisis. Since 1998, EIP has provided access to HIV testing for Greater Cincinnati residents. EIP offers HIV intervention/prevention counseling, testing, linkage to care and many other services to assist individuals. The Early Intervention Program recently has expanded its services to promote greater testing through community-based organizations.
MUSE, the Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir and CMC, the Cincinnati Men’s Chorus are pleased to announce the support of the formation of the Diverse City Youth Chorus for middle school, high school and college age students. Young people aged 13- 22 are invited to sing with Cincinnati’s only performing arts organization for LGBTIQ and straight youth. Rehearsals begin Monday evenings at 7 pm. March 17, 2014 at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church. The DCYC will give it’s debut performances on the MUSE June 7-8, 2014 concert series. There is also a week long summer day camp June 2-6, 2014 to prepare for these performances. Co-founding this new chorus are Lindsey Deaton, former Contemporary Music Director at the Cathedral St. Peter in Chains and Rhonda Juliano, Artistic Director of MUSE. Ms. Deaton will be the Artistic Director and principal conductor of the new ensemble. She directed music at the Cathedral’s weekly contemporary Masses for the last decade. “Currently in the SW Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky region there is no organization providing performing arts opportunities for LGBTQ identifying young people and their straight friends”, says Ms. Juliano. Findings from the GLSEN 2011 National School Climate Survey demonstrate that Ohio schools were not safe for most lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) secondary school students. "The vast majority of LGBT students in Ohio regularly heard homophobic remarks, sexist remarks, and negative re- marks about gender expression. Most LGBT students in Ohio had been victimized at school. In addition, many LGBT students in Ohio did not have access to important school resources, such as having Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) or similar student clubs, and were not protected by comprehensive anti-bullying/harassment school policies." The DCYC mission is to develop the voices, the character strengths and values in the young people served, and to have fun! This educational and outreach choral program will encourage and foster artistic expression, personal development, and leadership in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning intersex and allied youth and will present musical performances that provide an opportunity and space for young people, however they identify, to say “this is a place where I am accepted for who I am and everything that I bring," and share those gifts with the greater Cincinnati community to encourage and promote acceptance, love and connection. Ms. Deaton says, “As good-will ambassadors, these young people will grow and develop musically and know they have a safe place to offer the best versions of themselves.
