Sakura-Con is an annual three-day anime convention held during March or April at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle, Washington. The convention, which is traditionally held over Easter weekend, is the largest anime convention in the Northwest and is the 9th largest North American anime convention as of 2015. It is organized by the volunteer Asia-Northwest Cultural Education Association (ANCEA).ProgrammingThe convention typically offers anime game shows, anime music video contest, art show, artist alley, dances/raves, collectible card gaming, cosplay chess, cosplay contest, exhibitors hall, fashion show, Japanese cultural arts and presentations (aikido demonstrations, kabuki performances, kendama play, kendo swordsmanship, taiko drumming, tea ceremonies), Japanese pop and rock concerts, karaoke, masquerade ball, panels, table top RPG gaming, video gaming (arcade, console, PC), 24-hour video theaters. The 2010 charity auction also benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation raised $27,000. The convention before holding fundraisers at the 2012 event raised $90,000 for Tsunami relief. GPBF returns! 2016 marks the 12th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival – we invite you to join us inside and outside Elysian Fields in the North Lot of CenturyLink Field, where more than eighty pumpkin beers from near and far will be poured, including 20 or so from Elysian’s pumpkin-crazed brewers and their collaborators. For those who haven’t been to GPBF: we have a giant, several-hundred pound pumpkin that is scooped, scorched, filled with Elysian pumpkin beer, sealed and conditioned, and then tapped at the fest for all to enjoy!

GeekGirlCon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of and celebrating the contribution and involvement of women in all aspects of the sciences, science fiction, comics, gaming and related Geek culture through conventions and events that emphasize both historic and ongoing contribution and influence of women in this culture.

Located on two corners of Occidental Plaza, The London Plane is a one-stop haven for downtown residents, workers and travelers alike. We have two spaces (The London Plane and The Little London Plane). The large space on the northeast corner is The London Plane, part cafe, part specialty foods grocery, and part floral workshop. You can stop by in the morning for a coffee and a handmade croissant. Come lunchtime, enjoy an array of salads, soups, and plated lunch items. You can also pick up groceries & whole grains, a bundle of mint, a bottle of Italian olive oil, and a loaf of sourdough baked in our wholesale bakery located in the back of the building. If you’re headed to a party, there are flowers, soaps, etc. to share as a hostess or birthday gift. At the southeast corner of Occidental Plaza is our smaller space, The Little London Plane. We serve bar snacks and a list of wines and refreshments by the glass. Our shop section showcases beautiful housewares and gifts from local artists and artisans, as well as cook and design books, and a selection of wines by the bottle for takeaway. This space also hosts private gatherings, whether it be for business meetings or dinner parties. Delicious meals catered by our kitchen team will keep communication and creativity flowing.

In addition to gallery updates on new artists, new work, or gallery exhibitions, we also enjoy posting various arts-related articles or videos and encourage feedback; important dates in the history of Modern Art; artists birthdays; and anything else we feel adds to the awareness, deeper understanding, and collecting of the visual arts.
