Each tour explores the past of some of the oldest buildings in Seattle and will, perhaps, give you the opportunity to encounter some residents whose earthly forms may have departed, but of course, never left. Welcome to the official page for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office. In our posts you will learn a little more about our approach to justice, and the women and men who work here, who work for you, and who are dedicated to the health and safety of the people of the county named in honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is a national model ensuring that criminal justice and community justice go hand-in-hand. Public safety will always be our highest priority, and we are proud to stand up for the victims of crime, who are often the most powerless and vulnerable among us. We use prosecutorial discretion and strong partnerships to keep young people in school and away from the criminal justice system. We seek innovative methods to find help for people with drug addictions and also relief for the neighborhoods impacted by drugs. We are problem solvers who use the law as an intervention point to help people with behavioral health issues. We partner with the community we serve to achieve the best outcomes for some of the most complex social problems that come to our doorstep. It's an honor to lead the King County Prosecuting Attorney's office in service to our community. Dan Satterberg King County Prosecuting Attorney

The Seattle Community Police Commission (CPC) is a civilian commission with a mandate to represent community interests and recommend changes to the Seattle Police Department's (SPD) policies and practices. The CPC is unique - Seattle is the only city in the nation with a commission of this kind. The commissioners represent the diversity of Seattle and include civil rights and civil liberties advocates, business and faith leaders, mental health and housing providers, and representatives from the two SPD unions. All have experience directly relevant to police reform. The City of Seattle established the CPC after signing a settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to reform SPD practices. The CPC's 15 volunteer commissioners were confirmed by the City Council in March 2013.
