MARC STRAUS, a contemporary art gallery, opened September 2011 on the Lower Eastside in New York. January 2012 MARC STRAUS moved to its permanent location at 299 Grand Street, a fully reconstructed three-story building that began as a tenement and in the last century has housed various retail stores consistent with a changing population. Marc says, “My roots are here. This is an area now with yet another life, vital to the emerging art scene. 299 is a homecoming – it's just across the street from the textile store my immigrant father had owned and where I worked from childhood until I graduated medical school.” MARC STRAUS is a gallery that continues the tradition of its founder in identifying and fostering some of the best new international art talent. 13 artists are represented from 9 countries most of whom have not shown before in the US.

LMAKprojects was founded by Louky Keijsers Koning in 2005 and Bart Keijsers Koning joined as co-owner in 2009. The gallery's primary interest lies in the commitment to the artist's process and dedication to their thoughts and production. LMAKprojects works with artists who have proven to sustain continuity in their visual expression without being repetitive. The gallery strives to introduce collectors to new horizons through visual, sound, or conceptual experience, as well as opening communication to develop a relation between the viewer and the art. LMAKprojects is known for its exhibitions with international allure and focusing on interdisciplinary practices. LMAKprojects began operation in two New York spaces, Chelsea and Williamsburg, however, in October of 2008 it relocated to the Lower East Side (LES). The ground floor space features two levels with the first floor being solely dedicated to exhibitions, and the downstairs lower level for an office and private viewing. The new location allows for a focused program and an accessible neighborhood to welcome collectors. The gallery presents works in all media, ranging from drawing, painting, photography, video/film, and sculpture by artists from all over the world. Artistsʼ works have been acquired through LMAKprojects by such institutions as Museo del Barrio, New York; Contemporary Museum of Photography, Chicago; Guggenheim, New York; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Philbrook Museum, Tulsa OK; Kadist Art Foundation, Paris, France and San Fransisco, US; Rhode Island Museum of Art, RI; Minneapolis Institute of Art, MN. The gallery has been reviewed in such publications as the New York Times, Art in America, Artforum, The Village Voice, the Washington Post, Modern Painters, Interview Magazine among others. Bart Keijsers Koning Graduated from SVA in 2000 specialized in painting, after a transfer from Columbia College Art department where he also studied Business. Prior to joining LMAKprojects in 2009 Keijsers Koning exhibited and curated in the Netherlands and the US, and managed various galleries.

K. is a new gallery taking over the P! storefront at 334 Broome Street. From March through August 2015, K. inhabits the renovated Lower East Side space. Collapsing the timeframe of the four-week gallery show with that of the four-day art fair, K. presents an accelerated schedule of two-week long exhibitions. Featuring artists Real Flow, Aaron Gemmill, Mathew Hale, Michal Helfman, Matthew Schrader, Anton Stankowski, Klaus Wittkugel, Wong Kit Yi, and others, the eight exhibitions of K. examine critical questions of economic systems and the production of value in a new context. Gallery architecture by Leong Leong functions as an open white cube for the condensed six month schedule of shows. A hybrid physical/virtual publication edited by Sarah Demeuse and Sarah Hromack accompanies the program until the conclusion of K..

In the midst of dozens of art galleries in the Lower East Side in Manhattan, Red Royalty Gallery, situated at Delancey and Allen Street, is something very different. It is a salon-type contemporary art gallery, rooted back in the Art nouveau's eclectic philosophy and the tradition of totality and theatricality: wooden floors, decorated storefront windows, and high chandeliered ceilings. We are pushing for the timely transcension of the widely accepted white cube model for galleries, as we believe that this format has already played its role in the history of art, and is slowly becoming dysfunctional. We represent Princeton-based sculptor and painter Kremena Lefterova whose imaginative colorful porcelain and ceramic sculptures are influenced by the beauty and complexity of Cirque du Soleil's performances and the fantasy world of Hieronymus Bosch's dream-like illustrations. Kremena's paintings and illustrations bridge the gap between the academic essence of the Russian Classical School and the magical qualities of Scandinavian fairytales. Animated yet static, figurative yet allegorical, and classical yet contemporary, Kremena’s multifarious works are unlike anything else currently on the art market. Kremena also works with clients to create in situ sculptures, installations, or fine design solutions for their office, apartment, or house.
